Milio returns to VIAVIA Records with Purple, three pieces that move through different shades of the floor.

Purple unfolds slowly, stretching into a moment that feels just out of reach, then suddenly isn’t. Snake Farm stays lower, circling a more elusive, shadowed space.
Overdub drifts further out, dub textures, reduced, weightless, holding time in place.

Made for the club, but living somewhere in between.

With Purple EP, Milio sketches out a three-part narrative that moves fluidly between introspection and physicality. Written with the club in mind, the record doesn’t aim for immediate impact, but for those slower, more absorbing moments on the dancefloor, where atmosphere and movement start to blur. The title track, Purple, opens in near-weightlessness. A stretched-out ambient passage sets the tone, gradually giving way to something more grounded. What starts as a slow drift evolves into a warm, rolling house framework before subtly mutating again, loosening into a laid-back electro groove that feels both reflective and quietly propulsive. It’s less about arrival, more about the in-between, designed for transitions that shift a room without forcing it. Snake Farm follows with a different kind of presence. Stripped, steady, and slightly ominous, it leans into tension without overexplaining itself. There’s a rawness to it, a track that holds its shape while leaving just enough space for the unknown to creep in, built for the darker corners of the club. Closing the EP, Overdub dives into deeper territory. Built around detailed sound design and a strong sense of spatial depth, it plays with repetition and subtle modulation. There’s a hypnotic quality to it, equally suited for late-night systems and open-air settings, where small shifts carry weight and atmosphere does the heavy lifting. Across Purple EP, Milio focuses on contrast and control, moving between ambient, house, electro, and dub techno without forcing the transitions. Club music at its core, but with a strong sense of space and patience, a record that invites the listener to stay a little longer inside its world.

Milio returns to VIAVIA with Torpedo, a downtempo, synth-driven cut built on hypnotic acid lines and a gritty, rhythmic pulse. Powered by live drums performed by Casper van Helvoirt, the track moves through a rich stereo field with a textured, almost tactile feel. A large part of the creative process unfolded at the iconic Willem Twee studios, where Milio shaped its deep, resonant character. The release comes with two standout remixes.

Space Dimension Controller delivers a twisted acid reinterpretation – mysterious, floaty, and spacious – maintaining the track’s slow-burn tempo while pushing it into a dreamy, drifting realm.

Tifra elevates Torpedo into a 90s-tinged psychedelic journey, blending downtempo grooves with Goa-inspired energy. His remix is trippy yet emotional, adding a vibrant, kaleidoscopic edge to the original.

The Netherlands is home to a new, elusive force in electronic music: A#. This powerhouse collective, made up of Alberta Balsam, Bastian Benjamin, French II, and Milio, brings together four artists who are all respected names in their own right. They made waves with their unique, fully improvised live set at Draaimolen Festival and STOOR at ADE.

How can less be more? In this case, four is certainly more. Their performances are an unpredictable journey through glitchy breaks, hard-hitting techno, dreamy arpeggios, deep, wobbly bass, and topped off with spontaneous live vocals. Each set evolves organically, surprising the audience just as much as the performers surprise each other. The result is a constantly shifting sonic adventure through techno, ambient, bass, IDM, and electro, making their show as fun to watch as it is for them to create.

The group embodies a raw, no-nonsense approach, where instinct reigns supreme. The quartet often performs right in the heart of the crowd, gathered around a table of knobs and cables, keeping you on edge with every twist and turn.

Milio has carved a reputation for crafting selective, meticulously designed soundscapes. His rough, industrial edges are sculpted with finesse, flowing seamlessly into a spectral fusion of deep, melodic dance music.
“Erosie” is a deep house gem that blurs the line between reality and dreamstate. With its intricate synth design, finely tuned harmonics and a melody that lingers long after the last note, it becomes more than just a track. It’s an immersive journey where every detail is placed with precision. Milio’s unmistakable fingerprint elevates the production into something truly timeless.

On the other hand, “Matter of Time” explores the brighter spectrum. Uplifting, euphoric, and brimming with raw energy. It’s a dancefloor ascender, fueled by trance-inspired momentum and oldschool house textures. Nostalgic yet forward-thinking, it radiates joy, faith, and pure peak-time euphoria.
