Hayden Panettiere lost her Neutrogena job when she said the word "postpartum" on television when speaking about her own experiences as a mother who had dealt with it and found out firsthand how crippling it is to experience. She also, a month before her passing, spoke out further against the predatory men who abused her and groomed her in Hollywood as a child... Including how one of her friends delivered her straight to the bed of one of these predators. She dealt with all of that, including the death of her younger brother, while navigating an industry that did nothing but abuse her since she was a literal small child.

I want to make it a point to talk about Hayden's work, the joy she spread, the lives she touched... But I also want people to SPEAK UP about the harm that the industry and the men in it did to her. Speak up about the pain this industry and the society at large we live in puts on women. The lasting pain that childhood abuse, especially in a world that facilitates it for financial gain, causes needs to be discussed and it needs to be loud. It never stopped at her being a kid and I genuinely believe that if men were not allowed to treat children and women this way, that so many incredible people would still be with us.
