Im having a fight discussion with my fiance about how much wedding photos cost and was hoping you guys could settle the score.
So here it is, how much (all together) did you end up paying for your photographer/ wedding pictures?

How did you know he/she was "the one?": He went to the Naval Academy and would fly into Michigan to see me on weekends and holidays. I thought it was so special that he wanted to see me and we just fell head over heels for each other right off the bat! He's definitely my other half.
Do you have a personal wedding website?: I started making one on theknot.com but I don't really feel like it reflects our style. I don't want to put too much information out there because part of the fun is the surprise for guests!
Any advice you'd like to offer?: I'm more interested in taking advice right now! But, I think "don't forget to have fun" is good advice for wedding planning.

So I haven't started really looking into any wedding photographers yet( the wedding isn't until May 2009) but I went to a bridal show this past Sunday and entered my name into a contest with one of the wedding photographers there....well I didn't win the grand prize but I was a runner up and got $1000 any wedding package. So I checked out their website and they state that their pricing starts at $3,500...meaning that the cheapest package for me with the discount would be $2,500...is that a good deal? Also if there are any SE Michigan brides in here the place is called Venture Photography...anyone worked with them before?? Also any recommendations on any other Photographers in the SE Michigan area?

How did you know he/she was "the one?": We met right after I came home for the summer from college, so we had the whole summer to hang out, I was a little afraid once I went back to school in the fall he wouldn't come up to visit me and that would end our relationship...nope he came up almost every weekend(sometimes surprising me) for the next year and 1/2 that I had left!!!

I need some HELP! I'm trying to plan this all the way from Georgia, virtually sight unseen. Can anybody recommend a venue that could hold roughly 300-400 people in roughly 5000sq ft or more? I've tried yahoo searches, and citysearch and all that stuff, but maybe I'm not using the right search terms, I don't know. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!! The preferred area would be Ann Arbor, but I will also take Ypsilanti, Canton, Dearborn, Westland, Wayne, Auburn Hills, or other close by areas, but NOT actually IN Detroit.
