Medea's inspiration collection

@mft-inspirations

Sideblog for whatever I want to keep for inspiration. Main blog is @medeaft.

I'm Medea. I'm an adult; I'm from Hungary.

This is the sideblog where I'm going to reblog things I want to look at later; while it is for my own pleasure and use, you are welcome to also look at it. However, please beware that while some of what I will find inspiring is flowers, forests or pretty skies, there will probably be some gruesome or at least disquieting stuff in here every so often.

Please be warned that while things will be tagged, things will be tagged to categorise them for my own use and finding ease, not for public warning.

are u guys hearing this

(This is a Great Golden Digger Wasp - Sphex ichneumoneus - doing what its name implies, digging. But you may also notice, if you turn the sound on, that she’s making some incredible noises as she does so.)

Incredible onomatopoeia practice happening in my notes

the concept of the 'self destructive behaviour' is premised on a counterfactual claim: if i hadn't been doing the behaviour, things would have been better for me. the behaviour was destroying me. i am not saying this can never have been true. but what happens if we ask instead, what need was the behaviour satisfying that i wasn't having met elsewhere? how much worse off would i be if i'd had to live through that period without even the refuge of the behaviour?

"doesn't this charater under insane stress going through extremely traumatic events realize how inconvenient their irrational emotional reactions are to the people around them?" well, see, you're not gonna believe this, but the thing is,

Acrylic on canvas, 50 × 50 cm «While We Fly Together»

Swans are known for their remarkable devotion to one another. They form strong pair bonds that can last for many years, sometimes for a lifetime. Perhaps this is why, for centuries, swans have been a symbol of love, loyalty, and devotion.

But I didn’t want to paint two swans simply as a beautiful symbol of eternal love.

Here, they are flying side by side. There is space between them. Each carries themselves through the sky with their own wings, and yet they choose to move in the same direction.

Perhaps, for me, this is what true closeness means: not holding someone beside you, but being two free beings who choose, again and again, to fly together.

Above them is an enormous moon. The earth is left below, and ahead lies a space we cannot yet see.

Sometimes love is not a promise that nothing will ever change.

It is choosing the same direction for as long as you both wish to continue the flight.
