Hey Femke. Just a quick question, what is this wikibreak enforcer you mentioned at the meetup, can't find it at all? Quizzicalmind159 (talk) 19:03, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

You can find it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_User_scripts/Scripts/WikiBreak_Enforcer. Femkemilene (talk) 19:22, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Climate change portal/climate denial review

edit

I've replied to your question about how to find English-speaking local admins there, and hope it is helpful. I will note that this is a rather ambitious project, and one that I would be more than happy to assist with if possible. I've been involved in helping with small-medium project inaccuracies of this kind for a while and had not before considred the possibility of comprehensively documenting and attempting to remove misinformation from a more global perspective. This could also potentially be applied to other subjects, such as articles on LGBT and womens rights, various ethnic groups, religions, etc. Best regards, and happy editing, Vermont (talk) 01:06, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I had been wondering about COVID misinformation, and whether something similar had been done there. I think the difficulty will go up once you leave science and try to tackle misinformation about people. Femke (talk) 08:24, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Update

edit

Do you want to subscribe to the Wikimedians for Sustainable Development newsletter?

Hello! Thanks for being a member of Wikimedians for Sustainable Development. We recently did a poll and understood that our newsletter was quite unknown. This is therefore a one-time invitation for all our members to sign up for our monthly newsletter. Best regards, Ainali talkcontributions 14:39, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your 2023 survey suggestions!

edit

Hello Femke. Thanks for your two suggestions. I was made aware of them by a user when I have made my own this year (see here). I hope all of them could be implemented!   Have a good day. Jurbop (talk) 07:30, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Good chance that at least some of it will be implemented, as a similar wish won the 2022 Community Wishlist by WMDE. Anyway, GMTA. It does seem it would have been better to merge the wishes together before the launch, as they overlap almost exaclty. Femke (talk) 07:48, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Test and co-create a new feature for reusing references with different details

edit

Hi,

this is Lina and Eline from the Technical Wishes product team at Wikimedia Deutschland. We hope this message finds you well!

We are currently working on a solution to help Wikimedians easily reuse references with different details – a problem related to several Community Wishlist Survey wishes (partially) supported by you (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4).

We want to invite you to a user testing session. During the session, you can test a prototype for Visual Editor and provide your feedback. Sessions will take 30–45 minutes, compensation is available. If you are interested, please sign up here (privacy policy).

Please note that most likely, we won’t be able to have sessions with everyone who is interested. We will try to test with a diverse group of wiki contributors. If you’re a fit, we will reach out to you to schedule an appointment.

Hope to hear from you soon, and please let us know if you have any questions!

Best, Lina Farid (WMDE) (talk) 18:17, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Pan-European conference

edit

Hallo Femke (sorry for talking in German), ich vermisse eine europäische Konferenz nicht. Wir haben eine große deutschsprachige Konferenz und für internationale Themen gibt es die Wikimania. Ailura (talk) 09:14, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

(Schuldeutch ohne deepL Hilfe, entschuldigung)
There is however no conference in the Netherlands or the UK. People have told me that the North American conference is more for editors, and Wikimania more mixed with affiliates. I believe there is also a east-european conference. Maybe what's missing is a West European conference? Is there one in France or Spain? —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:43, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
As far as i remember, the CEE meetings were always much smaller than for example the german language WikiCon and even more centered on affiliates. I don't know whether it's possible to create a european community, only doing half a wikimania is not convincing. --Ailura (talk) 19:12, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
