Merry Pirates

Hey y'all!

So I just posted the last two stories, though I had to post one of them in two parts because LJ shouted in pink boxes at me that the post was too long.  Story of this ficathon's life.  From there, I can only say that I have never read so many fantastic stories in one sitting, because I'm shameless and cheated!

Title: "A Delicate Predicament" (Part One)

Warning: Some suggestiveness, but no real smut
Notes: Set Post-AWE; previous canonical events intact. This story is a stand-alone, and is not related to my "Rum and Persuasion" story cycle. Please note: I had a hard time determining what accent Anamaria uses (if any!) in CotBP, despite replaying her scenes multiple times. Sadly, she has so few lines! Some of her words in the recruitment scene do sound clipped, and in the scene where Gibbs et al are following the Code and leaving Jack behind, it does sound like she says "Hoist de sails!" For the sake of this story, I opted to give her a slight Islands/Jamaican accent (though not as pronounced as Tia Dalma's, and with much better use of English.) I hope this is acceptable!
Beta: The charming and delightful geekmama, with my most sincere gratitude! She indeed was very thorough, and this story has been much improved due to her input! Any residual flaws or errors are entirely my own, and in no way reflect on the excellence of her beta skills!
Summary: Six weeks after saying their final good-byes on the Black Pearl, Elizabeth and Jack meet again in Tortuga…

 Hey y'all,

so I'm bringing posting into this week because I am super busy, New Years Eve was too crazy to sit down and do anything other than cook, clean and be nuts.  However, it was a fantastic night because 2010 came in with the most amazing moment of my short 22 years, and I hope that it means that 2010 will not suck like 2009 did.  

So, posting to commence tonight and throughout the rest of the week.

 Hey y'all!

I have five more stories to post tomorrow all of which will somehow happen within the alloted time frame.  I have a very busy day ahead of me, but, I will do my best.  I may post one or two on the 1st, but that's still the holidays so I'm counting it as on time.  LJ seems to have cleared up its wall-of-text failure though I'm sticking to my guns and avoiding any LJ user name links in the post - just in case.

However, my post is not about my failure to post on time.  It's actually an idea I had.  This year we had 23 different people sign up for our ficathon.  We amassed that many stories, plus a few because I'm nice :D.  To that end, I was thinking, why not do something like this a few times a year? Clearly they'd be shorter requests, and the word count would be slightly less than 1000 - though I think about two of you were even close to that number, myself included.

I'd probably have to make a new community, as this is penknife's brain child, and I might model it after rounds_of_kink, with permission from Andrea and Mickey.  (Different Andrea, clearly.) 

We could change up challenges, such as drabble challenges, or word based ones, just to keep the story flow going.  As always, any pairing, any kink, warning or idea would be welcome.

Is anyone else amenable to this? I'd make the community, and if enough people are interested, I might need some help maintaining it.  One or two people who would be on top of the job would be great.

Summary: Elizabeth's son always looks forwards to Captain Barbossa's visits and the grisly tales of the sea that he shares. Elizbeth must admit, however, that she might have her own reasons for welcoming the pirate into her home.
Warnings/Notes: The story that Barbossa shares is based on a 'true' story of an English ghost ship, so I'll only take the credit for incorporating it into my tale rather than the actual creation. No warnings apart from mild adult themes and a bit of angst.
