The 2010 AHA Health Forum Leadership Summit will be held at the Hyatt at the same time as San Diego Comic Con. We'll have notables such as Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, DeeDee Myers... I smell comedy gold!

Unless you're one of the cosplayers with weapons. Then I smell much anger.

*boggle*

I didn't think anything happened in San Diego during Comic-con except for Comic-con! 'Cause how will they fit the extra people into the city?

Wow, that won't end well.

Or perhaps Newt Gingrich will get his picture taken with people carrying giant swords, who knows?

I was at a panel at a con recently where someone was talking about a con that shared a hotel with a police convention. He saw a large policeman in full uniform waiting for an elevator next to a large man in a Klingon costume (complete with Batleth) waiting for the same elevator. The policeman looked a little confused by the Klingon and was clearly nervous to be so near such a strange person, until the Klingon said "Oh! is that as [insert Gun type here]? I have a [insert other gun type here] but have always wanted to try a [insert 1st gun type here]..." and then I think they both fan-boyed about guns, riding the elevator.

Either way, I'm sure that there will be some really interesting stories to come out of it...

ETA: OOH! also, cosplay as Al Gore!

Newt wrote a science fiction novel, after all...

Originally I thought it was the American Heart Association, to which I went, "Holy crap - am I going to be sent to San Diego at the SAME TIME as Comicon for a conferance?!"

(commenting late as I have been afk for 5 days)

The sheer volume there will make for some good comedy, but the best convention intersection I've seen was 2 years ago in Dallas. Harry Potter and Southern Baptists. Voldemort and Snape were regularly asked if the were 'born again' or 'do you know where you are going when you die?'
