Vinge

Professor Vinge was a mathematician and philosopher who taught Geordi La Forge at Starfleet Academy.

Biography

La Forge recalled Vinge as "a good kind of crazy" who spent the last 11 years of his life trying to prove that the universe was a hollow sphere and you can get across the galaxy by moving in the opposite direction. (TNG novel: Balance of Power)
