MemeJam™

MemeJam is a community devoted to the downfall of the plethora of LiveJournal memes that: a) pollute our friends lists, b) indirectly force our individuality into rigid and poorly considered archetypes, and c) spread like an infernal plague from brain to brain, producing a general "dumbening effect." These memes, on the whole, only serve to erase our individual beliefs and make us more susceptible, as a population, to the will and overall mindset of the uncreative and banal majority.

MemeJam hopes to solve this problem by re-coding or rewriting corrupted LiveJournal memes that nullify the desired effect of the original meme and ultimately propagate in tandem with the original meme, hopefully reminding individual spreaders of the fact that they are, whether they believe it or not, more interesting than what a questionnaire and a corresponding blurb of text tells them they are.

1. Try to include a link to all meme-jams within the meme you are posting, preferably in the hyperlink that, in the original meme, would have sent the victim to the homesite of the meme.

2. Remember that the function of this community is not to belittle or to irritate, but to educate and thereby create meme-immunities. Keep this in mind when re-coding and spreading memejams.

3. Posts should consist primarily of memejams and discussion regarding memejams. However, general discussion of culture-jamming, memetics, and associated topics are also welcome.

4. Swearing and the like are fully permitted on this website due to the nature of the task at hand.
