Arachnalia is every August (the 8th month), and is a month-long festival to worship and be kind to and acknowledge spiders in my name 🙏🏼

It can be celebrated with art of spiders (whether writing, drawings, poems, music, etc), fostering locations they can live safely like native plant spaces, moving them outside if they’re somewhere dangerous for them inside, and learning more about your local spiders!

Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. There are now bots that just go around disagreeing with things or saying stuff like this, sort of generic insults. "This video is stupid" without any context awareness kind of a thing. They are literally just online to sow discord for reasons undiscovered.

Whenever you encounter somebody like this online, just be aware there's a fantastic chance that you're just talking to an algorithm on some random Amazon server. That's not a person with feelings. You, however, are a person with feelings, and you're more important than this kind of bullshit, so you need to be aware of this and not let it get to you.

It's pretty trivial to get an LLM to just read comments and disagree with them all day long. Your human lifetime is not trivial. Don't waste it arguing with bots.
