I’m Melinda, more often called Mel. I’m twenty-two. I live in San Diego with my fiance and his parents. I’m a writing MFA at CalArts. I’m typically all kinds of depressed and fucked up but it’s okay because John is good at baking things and that makes things better. I love theater, roller coasters, and scary movies.

So thanks to sooooomeone I've been playing Sims 3. A lot. So I've started a legacy. I'm going to try for 12 generations. You'll have to bear with me on the first few entries I hadn't learned how to really take screen shots yet so some of them are a bit crap.

I would like to argue that I have not abandoned this LJ. I use it, and the fact that it has existed for a long, long time for all sorts of things. Things like, gaining membership to and posting comments on members only communities like ONTD_P.


Mostly I post writing over at my writing blog. And I keep up with people on facebook....sooooo there you have it.

So this weekend I went to see Spring Awakening with Alysa. It was most excellent. Though it did spawn a love for Moritz's hair.

Here's the deal. I got into this really cool writing class for this summer. One week working closely with Orson Scott Card and fifteen other people who got into the class.

Uncle Orson's Literary Bootcamp

Problem is this class is a bit on the expensive side. So I need to make some cash rather quick. To facilitate this I am opening commissions. Yes I know I have no fans and my art isn't a big hit around here but it doesn't hurt to try.


Here's the run down:

All art will be traditional medium (Pencil, Pen, Pen and Ink, markers on paper). Which will be scanned and cleaned up before being sent to the commissioner. I don't own a tablet so digital stuff is fairly limited. If the person ordering the art would like the original this too can be arranged but the buyer will have to pay for shipping.


EDIT: Let me point out what I mean by character. Just about anything. So long as you give me some good reference pictures.

Fandoms I am a bit more familiar with:
Harry Potter, Fables, Bleach, Venture Bros, Warmachine, Full Metal Alchemist.

I am willing to attempt original characters if you can provide enough reference.

That and lettering. Hand lettering owns face. *gurgle*

All of this and all I've accomplished is the title page.

Arggh my head is wanting to explode.

Need pain meds that put me to sleep as opposed to delivering lovely, wonderful caffeine.


Have been playing GTA IV for the last....few hours. Many hours.
