I have attended a few events organised by
angling clubs recently and it is wonderful to see the number of young people within the ranks ready and willing to do their share in promoting the social side of the clubs.
Mike McNulty, Tees Valley project manager for the Environment Agency, who presented the certificates, said: "Our aim is to encourage more young people to get into
angling and this has certainly been a success.

Tony Rees, of Merthyr Tydfil, is the chairman of the FWA and, as one of the stalwarts of the River Taff and someone who holds many offices related to
angling in South-East Wales, he has high hopes for the future of
angling in Wales.
The club championships, for three-man teams, is run by the Scottish Anglers National Association, the ruling body of game
angling in the country.
