Hello! Thanks for writing for me. I very much appreciate your time and effort.

Things I particularly like across canons/fandoms include:
*Happy endings, literally and figuratively
*People unexpectedly getting recognition/appreciation
*Partners (romantic and/or otherwise) defending each other, in any sense
*Teams learning to work together, found families, family dynamics and growth
*LGBTQIAP2S+ characters and relationships
*Strong female characters
*Banter! and other forms of levity

Things I do not want in this gift:
*Protagonist deaths that aren't already canon, unless you're also reviving the character(s) before the end of the story
*Eye trauma or body horror, excepting canon trans characters' body dysmorphia
*New cancer battles for canon characters
*More than canon levels of angst, violence, or gore
*Crackfic or AU
*Pregnancy/birth/kids not already part of canon
*Reference to anything from Harry Potter or its creator, unless done disparagingly
*Use, promotion, or positive representation of generative AI

For sex scenes, any rating is fine by me, as long as the sexual content is consensual. Any kink in my gift must be safe, sane, and consensual. With the requests for which I'm open to crossovers, please make sure the focus of the story stays on my requested rare fandom.

Devils Like Us - L.T. Thompson: any character(s)
I loved this book and immediately wanted a sequel. There's so much more of the world and the shipmates' stories to explore! I nominated the book's three central characters and Mita, but you can write about any of the pirate shipmates. For example, you'd be welcome to write about how other mates previously joined the crew. Or what's the next adventure for everyone after the events of the book? How does Finn and Remy's relationship evolve? How might Mita help Cas continue growing into himself? Do other characters learn magic? What happens with the mysterious captain's partner?

All of the interpersonal relationships are compelling. For romantic ships, I'd prefer Cas/Mita and/or Finn/Remy. Other canon ships are fine too, but I'm definitely less interested in cishet here. Please do not torture Cas with transphobia, nor Finn and Remy with homophobia; continuing to address the internalized issues from canon is okay. I'm definitely open to crossovers with Our Flag Means Death or Mackenzi Lee's Montague Siblings series. No Jack Sparrow.

Rūrangi (2020): any nominated character(s)
I have watched both the movie and the show of Rūrangi. I wished for more in both cases and have no preference as to your canon source material. There's room to play in both versions!

I like all four characters I nominated, and I'm interested in the past, present, and future for each person. I'd like to learn more about Whina Rangi, individually or in connection with Anahera -- platonic or more. Anahera herself has a fair amount of unexplored history, and her path trying to find herself spoke to me. The same goes for Jem, and I empathized with him despite also understanding Caz' frustration and disappointment. Even though we know the most about Caz from canon, the end of the show offered new questions about his family, and I related to his ongoing struggles with mental health and acceptance. We also saw only a little of the Caz/Andy relationship, and I'm curious about that. Caz' friendships with his city friends were fun, and the mentor roles both he and Anahera started to have with Rūrangi kids were sweet. I like Caz and Jem together and would enjoy them in a more enduring relationship, figuring out their first time and beyond when both are being themselves. I could easily also see them feeling better off as friends, though, and I dig each of their friendships with Anahera too.

Glamorous (TV 2023): one or more of Marco Mejia, Britt, Venetia, Ben
This canceled-too-soon show was so fun, with such engaging and flawed characters.

I really wish we could've seen more of Marco's gender journey. (Feel free to have Marco choose a new name.) I liked the Marco/Ben romantic potential but respected Ben standing up for himself, and would want Marco to make an effort to earn another chance with him. If they both got over their romantic feelings and settled into a more equal friendship, that could be great for both characters too. I could also dig one or both of them getting together with Chad. No to Parker, though!

I'd equally like a story centering Ben, Britt, or Venetia. We didn't learn a whole lot of background about any of them. Maybe Ben gets into performing and drag? What's next for Britt or Venetia post-canon? I enjoyed Britt and Venetia's romantic relationship, and I'd rather they be together or alone, not paired with others, if you're writing about either/both of them. Madolyn was also cool, and I'd be open to fic about any/all of my selected characters' working relationship(s) with her. A crossover with Survival of the Thickest would be an option as well.

Brilliant Minds (TV 2024): one or more of Dana Dang, Josh Nichols, Katie Rodriguez, Oliver Wolf

Wolf/Nichols is an OTP for me. I love Katie/Dana. I'd adore any story centering either relationship or both of them. I'm also open to Dana/Ericka, Jacob/Van, Jacob/Van/Ericka, Jacob/Van/Ericka/Dana, and Ericka/Dana/Katie relationships. I could even go for a Wolf/Silva casual fling, as long as it's clear that Oliver will still reconnect with Josh. (I'm not opposed to Silva/Wolf/Nichols, but you'd need to navigate the power imbalance more delicately while Josh is their boss.) Carol's separate friendships with Oliver and Josh are great, balancing sincerity and silliness, and I'd get a kick out of fic involving that. I like Oliver's connection with his interns too.

All episodes are fair play for missing and extended scenes. How did Roman impact Dana or Josh? Pre-canon backstory for Josh, Katie, or Dana would be interesting -- Oliver too, but obviously we've seen more of his in canon. Do Katie and Josh have similar coming out stories with respect to their parents? What happened with Dana's family when they lost her sister? Does Josh still keep in touch with friends or lovers from the military?

Does Oliver celebrate Hanukkah? How would a Chrismukkah for him and Josh go, whether this year or further down the line? Holiday sexytimes for any of my listed ships would be fun.

Crossovers with Grey's Anatomy/Station 19, Skymed, 9-1-1 original or Lone Star, The Night Shift, Saving Hope, Transplant, or the original Scrubs show would be fine.

Breakaway Series - E. L. Massey: Alex Price, Eli Rodriguez, Hawk, and Isobel

Tender and snarky is my jam. I just love these guys and their animal companions and the deep affection between them all. I like Alex's and Eli's friends too, along with Eli's family. How does Eli -- and his support system -- deal with his ongoing health issues? How does being a hockey player/playing the game continue to change since more players have come out, and how does that impact Alex's mental health? What's a day in the life of Hawk or Bells like? Are Hawk and Bells the guys' ringbearer and flowergirl? What big expenditure could Alex justify for their animals? I'm here for whatever* you want to write about these four characters.

Crossovers with hockey books by Rachel Reid, Sarina Bowen, or Eden Finley are all fine, as are The Cutting Edge original movie and the show Zero Chill.

*No sex involving Hawk or Bells. Cuddling encouraged amongst any configuration of the four.

Clean Slate (TV): Desiree Slate
We were extremely deprived of more of this show; funny, sweet, and touching, it had me laughing and crying within the same scenes. I liked all the characters; I only requested Desiree without any others because I couldn't decide and didn't want to limit you.

I'm less interested in Gavin or the Desiree/Gavin relationship, because I think she's better off without him. I like Mack and his burgeoning relationship with Desiree, but I saw some vibes between Mack and Miguel too, so, if you don't want to write Desiree/Mack, that's totally fine. Desiree mentoring Opal is fun. I enjoyed Desiree's reconnections with Harry and with Louis, as well as the relationships between Harry and Ella and between Ella and Louis. They're all such rich, complex characters. How do Desiree and the town continue to reacclimate to each other? What happens next???

Other Notes: If you blink, you'll miss the Steve/Bucky part of this; they're my OTP, so, I'm not sure how that "Language, Tony," moment possessed me enough to come home from watching AAoU in the theater and write this pairing instead, but there you go. The title is from "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)." Any mistakes are mine alone.

Other Notes: Brendan's pre-proposal comments in "The Show" sounded so reminiscent to me of his comments at the end of "Mixed Signals," I couldn't resist attempting some revisionist history. One story scene to slot between the last two canonical scenes of the "Pilot" plus two story scenes to bracket the last canonical scene of the "Mixed Signals" episode, with nods to essentially all the front fourteen episodes of the first season, comprise my 2011 yuletide fic for pressdbtwnpages. A handful of dialogue [including a certain declaration of P.J.'s] came directly and/or twistily from "Mixed Signals," "The Show," "Clubhouse Poison," "Baseball Myths," and "The Promise of a New Season." I'm grateful for the very helpful betaing by healingmirth and blithers. Any mistakes are mine alone.

Other Notes: This was my yuletide 2012 contribution for doranwen, whose request details inspired a lot of ideas, and I wish I could've done justice to them all. What the girls do with the parachute within the story is rather like this, except because there are only the two of them it billows higher and -- if you'll suspend disbelief in the air with the parachute for a while -- takes longer to fall. framlingem helped out with a swift beta; any mistakes are mine.

Other Notes: This story, which opens four years pre-canon in 1957, was my yuletide 2011 contribution for zoicite. Anyone interested can see a drawing (not mine) of the Senior uniform Alice wore, with the Curved Bar pin, in the opening scene. Camp Rainbow and Camp Dean really did exist -- and do still, although since that era Camp Rainbow has moved a few miles and revised the "Camp" part of its name (note tongue firmly in-cheek). The story's title is from the lyrics to "Taking a Chance on Love." Credit for betaing goes to mammothluv; blame for mistakes goes to me alone; Gina is all mine, too.
