Sorry for not closing the challenge, you guys. I was without phone and internet for a week while Verizon failed miserably for no reason whatsoever. I'll have a new challenge up on Sunday night and I've been working on all the past winner banners that I owe you guys. So hopefully I'll be done with them soon.
Challenge: Heart
Word count: 100 exactly.
Deadline: One week from now; February 15th at midnight.
Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and while hearts aren't exclusive to the holiday, they are fitting. If you want to be sappy, there are always candy filled hearts, Valentine's Day cards, and those chalk-flavoured things with ridiculous sayings on them. You could also take it very literally and work with the actual muscle that keeps blood pumping through our veins. To be cliché and cheesy, the sky's the limit!
As usual, you can post up to three drabbles for the challenge, each with a different interpretation or spin on the prompt. Do not post to any other communities, including your own journal, until the winners of this challenge have been announced. Put the body of the fiction behind a cut to make my life easier, and have fun!
Challenge: Wrong Number
Word count: 100 exactly.
Deadline: Two weeks from now; February 8th at midnight.
Dialing a wrong number is most oftentimes weird and uncomfortable. Especially if, let's say Gerard means to call Frank to angst about his burning love for Mikey, but accidentally hits his brother's speed dial instead, and unintentionally spills his guts. Talk about awkward.
