Hello and thank you so much for reading! I hope not to ramble on too long in this letter, but I also don’t want to leave any stone unturned on questions that may come with the various signups that I have submitted for this event. First off, I am happy with both fanfic and fanart for this exchange! To be honest, I’ve never received fanart before, so I am really excited to see what someone would come up with, but I will never turn down a well-written fic! So, whatever you choose, thank you so much! All DNW’s apply, whether it’s art or fanfic.

Secondly, I want to let anyone who would choose to read this know that all of the prompts that are offered are entirely optional! While I will likely provide a lot of ideas for the wide variety of characters and ships that are within this broad fandom, I believe that sometimes having a firm prompt that you have to stick to completely stifles creativity, so as long as whatever you decide to write doesn’t obviously violate one of my DNW’s, I am so excited to see what you come up with! Though if you’re like me and need prompts to write anything at all, don’t worry, I’ve got plenty of ideas!

And now that we’re through with the general housekeeping stuff, onto the fun part!

Character/Pairing Specific Likes and Prompts:

Individual Characters (ex. Rey (SW) or Leia Organa (SW) )

Most of what I would love with specific, individual characters is enjoying a moment with them. It could be with others or simply on their own, but the idea of getting in their head and seeing/hearing what is happening is something that I love to both read and write! I would really love to see something along the lines of “what would happen if insert random thing here happened or didn’t happen?” or “what did they do after a specific scene happened? After the scene changed and camera cut away?” What that means for your particular story or piece of art is really up to you!

 

Prequel Trilogy Ships: (ex. Padme Amidala/Anakin Skywalker)

Now, we’ve moved onto the ships and the eras of the “Skywalker Saga”. The general likes are going to be very similar for each trilogy because I am a simple woman when it comes to what I like to read and write. I am a sucker for political intrigue and the prequel trilogy has that for days, so the prompts and ideas will definitely reflect that. Don’t take these as all you’ll be able to write. As long as it’s not something in my DNW list, have fun!

IDEAS/PROMPTS:

1.      1.  Padme, pretty much anything about her would be amazing. Whether it’s a story from before the story begins and how she becomes Queen to her final moments, I would love to see more of and about her. Bringing in the politics of the Senate is also an interesting way to bring in both current events as well as the romance of her relationship with Anakin (or other posted ships I have for her 😉 )

2.     2.   Building off the last idea, I would love to see how the final days/weeks of the Galactic Senate played out. We did get to see some of it in the films and deleted scenes, but there was likely so much more that happened to both try to preserve the idea of freedom and begin to build what would eventually be the Rebellion.

3.     3.   Stories about the Jedi, whether they include political intrigue or simple stories about their everyday lives. I also wouldn’t say no to adventure/mission fic in the style of the films (though don’t feel constrained by that).

4.     4.   Time travel to fix all the shit that happened. Want to have Obi-Wan come back and murder Palpatine to save Anakin and/or prevent the fall of the Jedi? Yes, please. Want a original or sequel trilogy character to go back in time and change things? Go for it!

 

Original Trilogy Ships: (ex. Leia Organa/ Han Solo)

Onto the original trilogy we go! Much of what I want and like in this era of fanfiction (and by extension art) is very similar to what I will also ask for in the sequel trilogy to come, but I love stories from this era. Whether it be romance or character studies, the vast variety of content that can be made is amazing.

IDEAS/PROMPTS:

1.      1.  I would love to see stories exploring the aftermath of the destruction of Alderaan. It feels like we don’t see enough of what happened to the survivors and what they went through. Of course, first and foremost in my mind on this point is Leia, and I will always read a story about her in the aftermath of not only watching her home (and family) be destroyed, but also what she experienced on the Death Star as a whole.

2.      2.  I am a sucker for the found family fics that come from this era. Give me anything and everything.

3.      3.  Mission fic. All the mission fic. It doesn’t matter if it comes from the films or the comics (but if they do, context would be great since I am not as familiar) I love the action that comes with these stories!

 

Sequel Trilogy Ships: (ex. Rey/ Ben Solo | Kylo Ren)

And finally, onto the sequels! These were my first foray into Star Wars, therefore my greatest love and greatest disappointment (iykyk), but I will never run out of ideas that I would love to explore and receive stories/art on.

IDEAS/PROMPTS:

1.       1. Canon divergence fics are my jam in this era of Star Wars. Of course, having certain characters not die is a big part of that, but that also could mean so much! Want to pluck Rey out of the deserts of Jakku and put her on a First Order ship? Want to have the Resistance lose and see where the story goes? Want Rey and Ben to rule together as Emperor and Empress of the galaxy? Go for it!

2.      2.  Just like the original trilogy era, give me all the found family fics! All the friendship!

3.     3.   I would love to see more stories about the Resistance too. What are their relationships like beyond the obvious ones? What did we not see in the movies? Basically if there is any story you would like to tell that takes place between TFA and TLJ, as well as TLJ and TROS, go for it!

4.    4.  I would also love to see the idea of the force bond explored more. How does it change and shape the story as a whole? How do Rey and Ben connect, or disconnect, through their bond? How do you think it came to be? (Obviously, by the fact that Rey Palpatine is in my DNW, I am completely disregarding that part of TROS, so come up with something new if you want!)

5.     5.  If you wrote me a Rey Kenobi fic, I would probably die of happiness. Just saying.

 

Miscellaneous Fun – TV series, Video games, and Other Media (ex. Cal Kestis & Cere)

And finally, we have made it to the Miscellaneous fun section of the letter! This basically encompasses some of my favorite pieces of media outside of the Skywalker Saga. From video games like Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Star Wars Outlaws, books like the Aftermath Trilogy, and tv series like Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian.

Basically, for this I think there is a lot more freedom to either write self-contained stories from the shows/games or connect them to the larger story, so if you were to come up with a compelling tale, I will be excited to read it!

IDEAS/PROMPTS:

1.    1.   Give me all the Obi-Wan and young Leia content. I could read stories about them for days and I love the fact that we got so much interaction between them, especially when it seems like there are a lot of stories that are just Obi-Wan and Luke. Or, as an alternative, force ghost Obi-Wan and original trilogy Leia!

2.     2.   Cal Kestis. Who is he? Where did he come from? Where is he going from here? Give me all the content and all the answers. He’s such a compelling, complicated character and I love everything about him. Or, if you’re so inclined, all the art.

3.     3.   If you’ve read the Aftermath trilogy, I would love to see how the events of those books continue on in the films. How did the First Order really begin? How did their plans change? How did Starkiller Base come to be?
