Yongbyon: For Peace (Civil Applications), , PLEASE!

The radioactivity were known as one of the masterpieces of the chemistry  & physics world since the 20th century. Since the Cold War, nuclear engineering has experienced a huge development, which made it as one of the vital & strategic sectors by the developed, confrotating countries.

North Korea as one of the top communist states in Asia, also benefited from the Yongbyon nuclear project which has been started since 1980s. Since then, WMD (Weapons of Mass Destructions) has been a self ace-card for N. Korea, but also a threat for World peace.

It's a common thesis that everything in this world is dualist, but it depends on us how do we face it, & so as the Yongbyon nuclear project. Nuclear projects also creates dualist benefits from it's existence & developments: to help or destroy people, & it's power are seirously enormous. DPRK may proud of it's competence of Asian nuclear project, along with China, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, India, & Pakistan. But in the other hand, the people were crying of extreme poverty, starvation & despotism. The Stalinist "Military-First" policy has jeopardized everything N. Korean lives. It has been a self-destructing power for N. Korea itself.

"Military first" policy, WMD doesn't give much benefit for N. Korea, except hate, & sorrow. It's the time to end this darkness into enlightement. Abolish the military fisrt-policy & Stalinism is the pioneer to enlight N. Korea. It will be better to apply the nuclear projects for developing electircity power plants, agricultural & food processing, & also, radiotherapy. The nuclea reactor should be also civilian-friendly, easy to learned, so it could be applied in widely peacrful ways. Within these ways, I hope, & I think that the peace technologies should improve the people's welfare. The food production could be raised so it could fight starvation. The heavy diseases (esp. cancers) could be also been fought by the radiology development, which also raised the life expectancy, indirectly. I hope, this should help the West to make friends with N. Korea more easily.

Anarcho-Communism for Peace

The Peace Initiative between Israel & Palestine & also Syria is a great leap forward to create peace & stability in Western Asia. But I should notice that this' a very sensitive issue: conflicts may sparked again if one side dissatisfied, & the others don't care. In other words, egoism/greed is the main root.

Looking at the 3 sides law (Israeli, Syrian, & Palestinian), It's very contrast that all of the laws seems choosy, although these tripartite also gave affirmative rights & protect the minorities, like the Israeli govt protects the Israeli Arabs, & the Syrian & Palestine protects the Jews & Christians. I underline the minorities protection & affirmative action laws, but the main matter is, the major groups, as the inlanders is privileged each other: Israeli law privileged Jews because it's based on Jewish law, & Syrian & Palestine laws privileged the Muslims & the Arabs as the major population. This experience is similar to Malaysian NEP (New Economic Policy) which the inlanders (Bumiputra/pribumi), tha Malays, were given special access to housing, business, education, law & politics. Definitely, the law is sectarian, or it's based on "me/our", not "we", so the differences often sparked conflicts because all sides only think about themselves, while they don't care the others. In short word, again, egoism/greed, gap, sparks jealousness & this sparks all conflicts.

In structural view, mainly the Israel, Syria & Palestine must change their law & ideal basis into secular socialist/progressive-democratic-liberal ideology based to guarantee all sides (community, race, religion, nationalities, groups, ethnics) are equal, but affirmative rights & protection towards the marginals (incl. foreigners, as they were also considered as minorities) must be guaranteed to enforce equality. This helps to create win-win solutions towards Israel, Palestine, & Syria in every cases, because "we-ism" (collectivism) is the main thing that is enforced in socialism, instead of "me/our-ism" (individualism). "We-ism" should brings up to win-win solution, because it encourages collective/together interests & moderation. In this view, the term "secular" is not "separating religious" but "combining all universal religious & cultural values in societal life". This 1st structural solution is a root answers to answer the next matters:

  1. Golan Heights: This' very strategic place because of it's water source, & the potential to "spy" each other between Israel & Syria. We've heard so much story about barren landed societies: just the matter of water sparks conflict. Israel occupied Golan since 1967 but the main sealing issue is: the Jewish housing & the water source. It's a very hurting solution but fairr for both sides: Golan must be considered as International Land, like International Water (eg South China Sea, Mediterranean Sea), so both sides may use it for peace activities. The Golan case has a similarity to Jammu & Kashmir in India-Pakistan borders that sparked boundary battle for many years. The neutral status of Golan should be a "win-win" solution for Israel, Syria so both sides can use it peacefully & equally without hurting others' interests. The Israeli Jewish housing must be collectivized to not only for Jews, but also for all needed people in the region, to ensure equality for all. Again, enforce collective interests instead of group interests...
  2. Hamas: We know this' the hardest thing to deal with, & Hamas is ruling in Gaza Strip. But fortunately, recently Hamas had shown positive attitudes towards peace negotiations. As I've said before, enforce secular-liberal-democratic-socialist touch & moderation in both Israel & Palestine (as I've stated on paragraph 3 before) to create the meeting point to help both sides create peace. Lifting the Hamas Charter, ideological hard line should boost the peace solution.
  3. Israel's responsible: Israeli attack to Palestine created casualties, neither human or material. The Palestine people lived in poverty, & uncomfortable, insecure condition. It's the main responsibility of Israel to aid Palestine to rebuild themselves, equal to Israel. Israel must help Palestine to help themselves, with supervision & aid from international community.
  4. Jerusalem: The division also made a heaty situation, recently, Israel were creating Jewish housing in the Al-Aqsa complex. The 1st solution, again, as in the Golan solutions: collectivize the housing (not only for Jews, but also for all needed people). And, again, fair, but hurts: Neutralize Jerusalem as International Land, of it's position as important city to 3 Abrahamic religions: Islam, Christians, & Judaism.

Finally, in my view, there's another solution for Israel & Palestine: merge Israel & Palestine into 1 state, based on secular democratic-liberal socialism ideology to enforce equality for all. And again, The term "secular" means "combining all universal religious & cultural values to societal life". By this perspective, all people were privileged together & equally, so jealousness may be decreased, & we can live together in peace & justice, but also emphasize solidarity for all people. It must be a nice world if people care each other...

China, lost it's identity (as socialist state)?

The Chinese economic miracle since 1978 is truly a miracle but also a disaster to the people itself. The economic grew at least 8%/annum, the industries were rapidly improved, all is not a bad thing that donates to a huge GDP. China is full of business from all over the world, it's not a bad thing. But situation became worsened because the economic reform were inattentive to social justice & economic equality, which's the main vision of Communism to create welfare to all people. The de-collectivization leads to free fight competition which sparks social gap & inequality & leads to social jealousness & increasing criminal rate. But the anti-corruption campaign must be thumbed of the government's seriousness to counter it from the government until the individual level. OK, but China must also don't forget to counter collusion & nepotism seriously as they did to counter corruption. The China ways to counter corruption is not only capture, imprison, or execute the corrupts, but they should also promote the anti-corruption, collusion, & nepotism culture in the society via seminars, etc.

In the education sector, is a forward step for China to abolish fees for rural students, but free & compulsory education must also enforced to all people. In structural view, the free & compulsory education must not only from primary & secondary education, but from preschool until tertiary education & formal & informal sectors to create massive yet competent human resources as also, social justice. Don't forget to give affirmative rights to the students from disadvantaged economy and/or academic with cost subsidies, & special treatment for academically disadvantaged to enforce their independent but competent so they could compete equally with the advantaged one. Vocational education is a very vital sector of education to be developed to create skilled labor en mass, to buil d the economy. Entrepreneurship is also a vital value to be developed in th education system as the economic power house esp. when facing crisis. Job traning as we seen in Europe is very important to be developed by the govt & collectives to support the labor force. In separate ways, although China only assign selective conscription, & enforcing militarist caderization through youth organization, it's a good idea to abolish them all. It's also to respect the youth, & children's rights as we respect civil & human rights. In the economic affair, it's not bad for China to enforce worker's self management system (collective) like in Yugoslavia & Latin America to enforce social justice via economic equality, creativity, innovativeness, responsibility, independence, & well moral among the people, esp. it's labor itself. But to keep China's image as a business center, don't forget to give investors/businesspeople some space to enforce businesspeople, labor, public, & government collaboration to create social justice.

Free &/or low cost training center should be enforced esp by the govt to create massive & competent labors to build the economy. Incentives by the govt is truly necessary to develop the economic, not only in financial or regulatory, but also in R&D must be supported by the government too. The conclusion is, the development must be based on independece, competence, collectivism, emphasize social justice & civilized society. Ethnicity issue has also been a sensitive issue, like Tibet, Xinjiang, etc., support them to emancipate in economic & cultural to create economic equality via incentives, tourism, & strategic industries as it would rose their income. The main cause of their dissatisfaction is the development gap between ethnic Han as the majority & the ethnic minorities & also the regions. Again, development/economic equality should help to reduce the matters. But once more, clean up the bureaucracy from corruption as it'll create development inefficiency, which leads to social gaps, then rebellions.

When the North Korean nightmare end?

Since Sino-Soviet split in late 1950s, North Korea, along with Yugoslavia, declared itself as neutral countries, in the Communist hemisphere. They didn't align to neither Soviet of Chinese Bloc, in order to create stability & peace towards Communist states itself, but they maintaned good relations with Soviet & Chinese Bloc countries. Although neutral, both lived in a very diffrent policies. Yugoslavia is quite liberal & opened, while communist ideology still maintained in every aspects under the "Brotherhood & Unity" principles (e.g. collective economy with market influence). North Korea, became quite closed to the West & still repressive, although North Korea starting to open the relations with 3rd World countries. But in the 1950 & 1960s, both countries were very wealthy, although Yugoslavia still ejoy the boom until the 1970s. The de-Stalinization campaign under Revisionism ideology truly helped all Communist states, also N. Korea to reform en mass to enjoy rapid economic & prosperity boom. But it don't lasted long when Khruschev were deposed, Brezhnev took control. Brezhnev seems to "re-Stalinize" Communist states, incl. North Korea. Since then, the boom were slowed, although the boom still lasts until 1970s. The nightmare begun in 1970s when the "re-Stalinization" campaign triggered the stagnation in Soviet allied Communist states, also N. Korea & USSR itself. Communist states were starting to be left-behind with the West, Japan, & the Asian Tigers as the emerging economy at the time. In North Korea itself, Kim Il-sung introduces the Juche ideology as the state ideology & launched the new constitution in 1972. The 1972 constitution, along with the Juche ideology, were clearly a Stalinism, which worsened the stagnation until today. North Korea were slowly been passed by the South as a wealthy country.

Talking about Stalinism in North Korea, it's a very destructive power. It paralyzed the economic activities & civil rights. In the economic sector, the "military first" policy is the true form of Stalinism. Industries were forced to produce more military equipments which have low utility comparred with the consumer or capital goods. The industry were also hard to reform in order to compete because capital & consumer goods were unrecommended by the govt. Because of the low utility, the market paralyzed becuase the demand on consumer & capital good is higher than military equipments. The military first policy also affects the agriculture matter very seriously. The crop production shrinks due to lack incentives such as fertilizers, pesticides, supplements & its capital itself, while the food demand is always rising along with population growth. This sparked the new tragedy: famine. Poverty increased rapidly which also forced people to defect. Transportation, infrastructure, utilities & communications development were also paralyzed. In shortword, military-first policy has seriously crashed the civil economy, prosperity, & wealth in all forms. Also, they resists the civil technologial development. Unfortunately, the economic nightmare also worsened with the iron-fisted, autarky regime. Freedom of expression, also religious & travelling were severely repressed. Gulags, torture has been a very serious fear for all the people if they dare to criticize, fight or defect the state or the govt. Inhumane, corrupt, & cruel. That's 3 words to describe the North Korean govts. The economic & political backwardness made the North Korean people feel so frustrated, & desperate. They've been supressed, tossed out by the govt. This nightmare worsened the Communism image as "cruel, immoral, slow, & inhumane". Despite of this worse nightmare, however, North Korea still have a chance to end up this nightmare. It's the time for the general rehersal to be enforced. The development vision & mission must be based on humanity & social welfare as the truly main vision of socialism, anarchism, communism, syndicalism, populism & progressivism. Corruption, nepotism, complicated-imeprialist bureaucracy is a dead price to be fighted. The autarky policies should be ended.

Freedom of travel, expression, religion & faith, must be respected. Military-first policy must be lifted. In the economic, the industry must more focus on capital & consumer goods, which's very strategic to develop the economy. In order to maintain the economic humanism & the socialism itself, it's a good idea to develop a market-collective economy like in Yugoslavia, from command-collective economy, with the result, the economy is efficient yet humance (social), gurantees equality of wealth & prsoperity for all. To make North Korean industry & agriculture products were competitive, certainly, North Korea must develop a well Quality Control systems. Deming system is a very good model to be developed by North Korea. Japan, S. Korea, & Taiwan is a very good model for N. Korea to develop it's industry products' quality, but of course, in this matter, science & technology is very important key to develop it. Reflecting in China's modernization, N. Korea can switch the military industry & science & technologies into consumer/capital goods industry & technologies, like we seen in China, a previously artillery shell factory switched into a gas (LNG & LPG) container factory, despite maintaining the market-collective economy Also, in the energy sector, which also fitted with political interests, North Korean nuclear program is very dualist. In one hand, nuclear program is a strategic path to build-up the armament, which's recognized as very dangerous, but in other hand, "civilized" nuclear program can be very useful for science & technology development, not only in armaments, but also in agriculture, industry, medical, & lots more. The matter is, the de-nucelarization process of N. Korea (within the destruction of Yongbyon reactor) is full with political interests. North Korea have lost their chance to develop further cvil science & technologies (such as agriculture, industry, health, etc.). Although Korean peninsula's soil is still considered fertile, this' not volcanic soil as we seen in Japan! Of course, the productivity is practically lower, & even, he North Korean geography is very mountainous, which's mostly have less arable land compared with the plain land (South Korea has more plains). But in the mineral resources, it's an ace for N. Korea because of its rich deposits which made N. Korean were easily industrailized since Japanese occupation & recover easily after the Korean War, along with Eastern Bloc aid. BTW, industry was also supported by R&D facilities, so collaboration between govt & collectives is highly couraged to support technology development esp. for industry. Besides, gots R&D is highly needed to assists the science & technoloical development for all economy, & even more, life sectors. No doubt, North Korean military manpower is one of the largest in the World, esp. its Army. Again, the technological baackwardess, esp. in the Navy, still made N. Korean military focused in conventional wars, but in this technological age, IT has played an important role in all aspects of life, incl. the military, although engineering also played an important rule in military equipments as the reflection of its performance. However, in the manpower, both Korean states has conscription. The matter is, there's no alternatives in conscription except imprisonment. N. Korea must ease the conscription rule into alternative services which have an equal period as military service, and/or, abolish the conscription & replace it with "character building" program to build up good character & to turbocharge their vocational skills (besides informal job training facilities) before they enter the labor world or continuing to tertiary education. But once again, any militarist touch (like in scouting as "mini conscription") is totally discouraged. As we seen in most communist states before, in the youth world, since in elementary schools, they've enforced scouting activities (like Komsomol or Pioneers, although they don't mention as scouting as we seen like "Hitler's Youth" in Nazi Germany era), as most of them is like a some sort of "mini-conscription" to seek the young Communist Parties' cadres. It's also militarist, though, so it'll be better to be abolished, & scouting were just remains as regular extracurricular, & not mandatory. Humanitarian matters also holds a serious effects for the economic & political life. Eduation should be compulsory & free at all level, from pre-school to tertiary, neither formal or informal, to all people, neither North Koreans & foreigners & the method must develop a humane, independent, efficient, & durable human resources. Thinking critically, but practical & assertive is a key factor to develop a humane yet sturdy people.

So that's why, the human rights must be enforced. Skilled labors & entreprenurship is a key factor to build the economy. Vocational education is a very strategic & important to be developed in the secondary & even teritary education. Job training facility as an informal education also important to create skillfull labor, so it must be also enforced, like we seen in Europe. Labor laws & unions is a vital ke as they were the "icon" of syndicalism. Never ever practice outsourcing system as it will hurtb the Communist & Juche principle! Last but not least, entrepreneurship is very imortant too be enforce, esp. from education, to not only create skilled labor, but also visionary to power innovation, & creativity as an important factor in present-day economy & science & technology. Within this way, I believe that North Korea would transform into a libertarian socialist state, promoting humanity, justice, equality, independence, & establishment for all. This would crank up the socialist-communism image as "humane, independent, neutral, & sturdy".

Taiwan's dark story of politics

The history of KMT in Taiwan traced back since 1949 when they were defeated by the Communist in the mainland. In Taiwan, KMT then become a dominant political power. Talking about Taiwan's history since 1949, the policies that enforced by KMT in Taiwan is rooted back to its last years in the mainland. The 228 Incident in 1947 sparked KMT  to launch Temporary Provisions Effective During the Period of Communist Rebellion in 1948 to counter Communism, which sparked the launch of martial law in the same year. Those 2 policies failed in the mainland as the KMT were defeated & retreated to Taiwan. The Republic of China on Taiwan inherited the single party KMT regime as they did in the mainland before, & as the mainland were also ruled under single-party Communist rule.Nevertheless, the KMT also ruled Taiwan under autocracy with the 2 main policies inherited from their regime in the mainland: Anti-Communist provisions & martial law.

It's so clear tat the KMT were a totally anti-Communist as Communist is their rivals at the time, & even more, the Cold War had just begun at the time. Communist PRC aligned with the Eastern Bloc before it splits in late 1950s because of Sino-Soviet split of revisionism/anti-Stalinist, while Nationalist (more likely as Fascist) ROC aligned with the West (mainly US). Both sides played an important role in the Asian political & economic chess as both of them were a dominant industrial economic power since 1950s.

Talking back about KMT autocracy in Taiwan, the anti-communist provisions & the martial law "transformed" Taiwan as an militarist state, yet very repressive in political & expression rights. The early KMT Taiwan regime were not so repressive. The autocracy worsened since the end 1950s, as Communist countries were starting to reached their wealth & the political tensions between ROC & PRC risen of the Taiwan Strait Crisis. The Penghu, Jinmen (Kinmen/Quemoy), & Mazu (Matsu/Pescadores) area suffered the ceiling temperature of political tensions because of their location in the Taiwan Strait, even more, these 3 islands were the area which the martial law is most enforced compared to the Formosa. Females were also not exempted from conscription as male do.

The Taiwan Strait Crisis, again, made political repression in Taiwan worsened. In August 1958, The KMT regime formed Taiwan Garrison Command, the secret police organization. The Taiwan Garrison Command, along with the Military Police, were the 2 main political  backbone in KMT autocracy in Taiwan. They, along with KMT, enforce media censorship, intimidations, state-sponsored murder towards political rivals, & other political repressions. Nevertheless, political repression, freedom of expression restrictions, & autocracy made corruption, collusion, & nepotism fulfilled in Taiwanese political life. Chiang Kai-shek (Jiang Jieshi (1887-1975)) the sole leader in Taiwan since 1949 until his death.

Shih Ming-te is probably the most famous Taiwanese political activist to counter KMT dictatorship, which leads him as KMT political prisoner. He's one of the eyewitnesses of 228 Incident in 1947, as some high school & vocational school students were executed by the Military Police. formed Taiwan Independence league since he's in military service, to depose KMT regime. Unfortunately, he's captured in 1962 & in 1964, he's sentenced to life imprisonment for managing independence movement, & he's severed injured in the interrogation: he lost all his teeth & his spine damaged. Nevertheless, he suffered back pain since 22. The KMT regime regarded Shih as highly dangerous, he's isolated & his civil rights were also stripped off. His sentece commuted to 15 years in 1977, & he was released in June 16, 1977. After his 1st imprisonment, he worked as a journalist & married an American journalist, Linda Arrigo, & founded Formosa Magazine, a political magazine.

In 1970s, KMT regime loosened its political repression by recognizing independent politicians/Tangwai (Dangwai, outside the party/KMT). This'a little stepforward for political freedom in Taiwan. Media censorship were also became less strict. Freedom of expression were more free. The Tangwais made a lot of career in politics, law & media to made a check & balances with the KMT regime. Taiwan became more liberal, although martial law & anti-Communist provision were still in power.Chiang Kai-shek died in 1975.

Chiang Ching-kuo, son of Chiang Kai-shek, took power in 1978. But he still inherits his father's legacy. The KMT again broke its promise to guarantee political & expression freedom in Meilitao/Kaohsiung incident in 1979. The Tangwai made a demonstration in Human Rights Day, December 10, 1979, to ask for more freedom in Taiwan, organized by Formosa Magazine, which's the most vocal KMT opposition. The military police again sparked the riots & blamed the Tangwai again. Shih Ming-te was again arrested & sentenced to life imprisonment, whilst his wife, Linda were deported to USA.

Chiang Ching-kuo's reign were said as the Golden Age of Taiwan. Although his regime still considered an iron-fisted like his father, Ching-kuo started to "cleaning" the KMT bureaucracy from corruption & collusion & from "black world", or the Triads. The Triads were known as ROC hero under his father of their deeds to help KMT countering Communism & the Imperial, as the "give thanks", the KMT regime "privileged" them. Taiwanese bureaucracy were starting to be better. But still, state sponsored murder & political repression still heavily occurs during the 1980s. Chen Shui-bian, the predecessor of Ma Ying-jeou, worked as the martial arts' victim lawyer. KMT described him as dangerous, & he was attempted murdered twice, a van accident in 1984 made his wife, Wu Shu-chen, disabled from hips & below, but the accident is aimed to Ah-bian.

Finally, in 1987, after 39 years in power, Chiang Ching-kuo lifted the martial law, pardoning political rivals, adopting multi-party democracy & allowing oppositions. DPP, the party which consists mainly of anti-KMT followers, founded in 1986. Ching-kuo also allows travel, mainly family visits to mainland China But sadly, soon after the semi-liberalization policy launched, Chiang Ching-kuo (1910-1988) died on January 13, 1988. Lee Teng-hui then rose as the President. Under Lee's reign he leads Taiwan to a liberal-democracy state, leaving nearly 60 years dictatorship. The Wild Lily Movement in 1990, demanding for fully democracy in Taiwan launched the elimination of anti-Communist provision per May 1, 1991. Since then, Taiwan become a democratic-liberal states as much other Western states. Relations with mainland China also changed from ideology conflicts to economic interests. Taiwanese Independence issue still became a very sensitive issue until today. China-Taiwan relations heated again of Lee's visit to Cornell University & his ambitions about Taiwanese Independence which sparked 3rd Taiwan Strait Crisis in 1996. The first democratic legislative elections were held in 1995. Lee was again became the 1st democratically elected ROC President on March 23, 1996.

In 2000 election, for the 1st time, DPP led by former President Chen Shui-bian, ended the 51 year KMT dominance. The Taiwanese people hopes so much improvement from A Bian's election. But sadly, he's again ambitious about Taiwanese Independence which severed again the Cross Strait relations The economy of Taiwan were again devastated again of political heat, SARS, after a little healed since the Monetary Crisis. Even more, he's also wagged with corruption, like the US arms purchasing, bribe & so on. After this 2008 elections, the Taiwanese people again returned their trust to KMT. Ma Ying-jeou elected as the new President. I hope, he'd improve better relations with mainland, while maintaining an independent Taiwan, & Taiwan economic recovery.
