Iphigenia and Her Parents
Really happy I got this done I loved sticking to the pottery and bronze colour tones. I originally wanted to copy Nolan's cold sea-vibe colours but felt this warmth was worth it in the end.
Was heavily inspired by Ezio Anichini's lithograph work for this as well as greek pottery :).

guys i forgot what ghibli movie it was but idk depressed!Andrew who gets sent to "go mourn by the sea and let its waves calm the melancholy" by his doctor (aaron) to a far away isolated little house that belongs to the family
when he gets there, a fox (a cursed shifter but he doesn't know that yet) whom he calls annoyance seemed to be in charge while the area was absent of people. it takes some time and theres a lot of distrust and hissing from both of them, but they move into a pattern and routine comfortable for the both of them
maybe after a few weeks though, theres a harsh knock on the door. they're miles away from any civilization, anyone who ends up here is either lost or looking for one exact thing. neil flinches, scurrying away for the first time since andrew's know him
he asks through the door who it is, they answer that they know "nathaniel" is in there. andrew blinks, he's quite alone. he says so and the insistent banging continues. cue neil jumpily running back in with a knife in his mouth--andrew had taken them all off and down the second day when a knife slipped out the wrong way and left a tiny cut on the fox's ear. he takes the knife and opens the door and
its a man, he calls himself romero--romeo? something of that sort. andrew doesn't really care enough to remember. he's dressed in plain clothing, leather straps of bags and pockets all attatched to him. he gives a bored once over and repeats flatly, that there is no "nathaniel" here.
but romero-whatever-his-name-is eyes between andrew's legs and spies the flick of a fire colored tail and smiles, wicked and cold. andrew's tired and done, he shuts the door and waits until his footsteps are not heard anymore.
neil flickers and jumps around him, energy buzzing in a obviously unpleasant way. he goes to the back door and looks at andrew expectantly. he opens it and neil steps out, watching andrew, seemingly trying to get him out. andrew steps out and neil runs out to the path before looking back, silently pleading. andrew locks eyes with the creature and shakes his head, "no running for me, i'm staying. stay" and turns to head in.
and to his surprise, the fox scurries back in with him. paws dusting dirt across wooden floors and claws lightly tapping on the wood, echoing. he circles around andrew once more, before seemingly getting distracted by the door.
but to neil he knows what he's doing. he's putting a charm on andrew, of protection, invisibility to those with ill intent. he puts lavender on the hinges of the door as to keep the house afloat and undetected magic-wise. he knows he can't hold off his fathers men if they come, but that wont stop him from trying.
