Mare's Place

On Sun. Jan. 26, 2025 at 6:15PM my beloved Mom passed from this world.

I was talking to her and she made a noise and stopped breathing.

I'm glad I was able to be with her as she passed and that my voice was the last thing she heard.

She passed peacefully which I'm so grateful for. She never seemed to be in any pain but couldn't talk and slept a lot.

I'm heartbroken and crushed.

I spent so much time caring for her I don't know what to do with myself now.

Thanks to all of you who prayed for her and supported me through all of this. It's been a long ride.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my Mom is on hospice. She's home with us and we're keeping her comfortable.

I think I mentioned before that she has vascular dementia. This also affects her kidneys. She was sleeping a lot and not able to eat or drink anything so we called an ambulance. The next day the doctor told me she's near kidney failure.

Please keep her in your prayers.

I’ve been around even less lately as my Mom fell in Sept. of 2020 and then again in Apr. of 2021. She’s been diagnosed with advanced vascular Dementia. She needs two people to help her in and out of bed etc. and really doesn’t know what’s going on. John got laid off in June so we can get her up during the day now. We don’t like to leave her alone when she’s up so there’s really no time for posting, etc.

Please keep her in your prayers.

My mom was released from the hospital about a week after she was admitted. She's doing better now and is having physical therapy.

Thank you all for you thoughts prayers and please keep praying for her.

My mom fell early Tues. morning and is now in the hospital. They think she took a small stroke. She seems to be doing all right and hopefully she'll be home soon.

Please pray for her.

Just to let you know my cousin died on Tues. She wasn't able to have any therapy and was placed in hospice care.

I'm going to put this under a cut since it contains spoilers for The Hobbit. I know the movies have been out for a while and the book even longer but there may still be some who haven’t seen/read it.

Edited to add:

Thorin acts towards Bilbo like season 3 of AtS Angel acted towards Cordelia. And Bilbo treats Thorin the same way that Cordelia treated Angel.

Anyway I just wanted to put this out there and see what others think esp. those who aren’t in the fandom.
