Based in Brighton UK, Ma Quest has played all-vinyl sets for club nights including Motive Sessions, Originate, Slackers Convention, Jungle Alliance, Brighton Loves Jungle, Simply Vinyl, Higher State, TNT, Strategy, BassKonnection, Variance, Future Dub, Takeover, Step Up, Switch Up, Bass in Darkness, Pink/Black, the Alternative Notting Hill Carnival and Skanking at the Worlds End.
Ma Quest won Mixcloud’s Glade Homegrown DJ Competition in 2012: the prize was a set at Glade Festival. She has played Drum & Bass, Ragga Jungle and Breaks on vinyl with RK Bass DJs since 2014 and digital reggae with the Smile & Wave guerrilla DJ collective. During the 2020 lockdown, she hosted the Unreal Dance Tent at the Virtual Stonehenge Free Festival.
She played at the One Love Festival in 2012, spinning ragga breaks on vinyl, and was there again in 2013 playing digital reggae. Coming home after that event, she was very happy to find a new notification from Mixcloud that the legendary reggae singer, Dennis Alcapone, who had also been at the festival, had just become one of her Mixcloud followers.
