We welcome fans of any kind of manga. Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean... Shounen, Shoujo, and yes, even hentai. Just be careful to keep questionable or more "adult" materials & chatter below LJ-cuts (and warn when they are Not Safe For Work) and to behave yourselves when talking about manga with mature content.

To cut downloading time, it's required that you put posts with multiple or very large images under an LJ-Cut. This also keeps peoples' friends pages from becoming distorted when you post something large. If you are posting long lists (for example, lists of manga for sale), an LJ-Cut is required here as well.

Manga Community Rules:

-Please keep your topics limited to things that are manga-related. Use your better judgement: if you post something that's irrelevant to the community, it will be deleted.
-Manga is drawn, printed material; and anime is animated material. This community is called the MANGA COMMUNITY for a reason. Please keep your topics manga-centric.
-Please no introduction posts. That means no "HEY I'M NEW!" or "JUST SAYING HELLO!" posts. They're not necessary and they clutter up the community.
-Before asking "How many volumes is this series?", PLEASE check Wikipedia first! If the info is outdated, then you can post asking if someone has reliable info on it.
-Posting icons, wallpapers, and fanart is okay, as long as it's manga-related. Large images or multiple images belong under an LJ-Cut.
-Posting personal photos, cosplay photos, ect. aren't allowed. If you're looking for cosplay ideas, tips, ect, try cosplay, please!
-Please keep spoilers to a minimum MARK CLEARLY in advance if you are going to post any. If you're posting or even commenting with a spoiler, be sure to label it as such to give others a warning.
-Asking for scanlations/rips of licensed manga is not allowed. If you post asking for scanlations from a series that has been licensed in English, it will be deleted. (Posting non-licensed scanlation links is alright, though.)
-Use common sense and manners. I can't stress this enough. If you don't like a particular series, that's fine, but please don't go around bashing it because you never know who else in the community likes it. And no childish name-calling. These are things that will get you banned.
- Sales posts are now limited to once a week per person! What does this mean? That means if you have some MANGA for sale, you can post it and advertise it. HOWEVER, you may only make a sales post once per week. PLEASE NOTE: This includes posts that are "reminders" of ending auctions! This rule is being put into place to try to limit the staggering number of sales posts the community seems to be getting lately.
- Sales posts are limited to manga, doujinshi, books related to manga, and merchandise directly linked to a manga. DVDs, VHS, anime merchandise, video games, and similar items are NOT ALLOWED because they're NOT manga-related. You may link to a post or eBay auction selling DVDs or similar items in a sales post, but only if you are also selling a good amount of manga as well (not just 1 or 2 books).
-Please try to put long lists of manga for sale under an LJ-Cut to keep your posts from getting severely long.
-When posting adult content (hentai/yaoi/yuri/whatever works, images, chat, etc.) mark it with an appropriate warning (for example, "NOT WORK SAFE!") and use an LJ-Cut. Be sure to CLEARLY label your content as well for people who might be browsing LJ at work or school.
-Community promo is only allowed when it is related to manga in a major way, and is approved by one of the mods. If a mod deems a certain community promo unrelated to manga, it can and will be deleted.
-3 Strikes and you're out: if you break any rules more than 3 times, you'll get banned. Simple as that.

And remember: Due to the large number of members, sometimes it may take awhile for mods to act on required actions. We mods do have lives outside of LJ, but we will try our hardest to keep our eyes out for things that need our attention. :)
