I'm a painter, graphic designer, and cartoonist and I have this LiveJournal account in order to reply to posts made by friends and acquaintances. I post a little of my artwork and photography here as well.
I love classic American animation and design. I admire: Hayao Miyazaki films, Brad Bird's The Incredibles and The Iron Giant, Pixar animation, and Disney's Treasure Planet. I'm also a huge fan of old comics and cartoonists: Herge (Tintin), Yves Chaland (Freddie Lombard), Chester Gould (Dick Tracy), Carl Barks (Uncle Scrooge), Osamu Tezuka (Astroboy), George McManus (Maggie and Jiggs), Winsor McCay (Little Nemo), Milton Caniff (Terry & the Pirates, Steve Canyon). I also love French Impressionism and Pop Art. I have edited and ghost-written essays on American comics and animation and have appeared on podcasts about comics.
Half of the art entries that I post are Friends-only, so if you want to see all of the art posted here, just add me to your Friends List and I'll add you back. I only post my artwork and always use small thumbnails before a LJ-cut.
