[ Vigilant to his shift in his surroundings, he’s quite effortlessly grasped the more imperative aspects of the situation. Though, being forcefully displaced into an estranged land based entirely off the separation of various kingdoms—there’s a part of him that can’t completely deny the sheer amount of his interest that had inevitably been piqued. But, contradictorily to these newfound curiosities, there were some evident apprehensions towards his current state of affairs. … Was the Heroine also here, and if so—

How to bait her out of hiding? How to grasp her attention? Would she finally be able to see him? And, would their subsequent encounter be one beyond just fleeting moments of bewilderment and unintentional desperation? Regardless, there was only way to find out.

He clears his voice with a soft sound from the back of his throat before finally opening his mouth to speak; an almost unbearably placid and collected tone to this voice as he does. ] Hello, residents of Mallow Hallow. [ There’s a pause as he passes a transitory glance back towards his … questionable surroundings. ]

It appears as though a great deal of you have found discomfort in this situation. [ A brief and seemingly thoughtful pause. ] Understandably so. Nevertheless, I offer you a potential solution. [ His powers have dwindled significantly, and while he was vastly dubious to the extent of magical energy that he had remaining, he continues onwards; disregarding the fact that his words were likely left to lies or half-truths— ]

Before that, however, I have a request I’d like to make. I would like to hear them... [ Realizing it may not be obvious, he easily amends his statement, a mirthful undertone to his voice. ] Your “earnest wishes,” that is. [ His voice trails off momentarily before gradually falling to silence, he lets the general message of words sink in before gingerly cutting off the feed. ]

The situation causes me no great discomfort, but I am curious about your solution.

[It's not that he doesn't want to return home, as he has business to see to there, but he's not particularly distressed.]

As for our wishes, why do you wish to hear them?

[ This was a curious way to receive a message, he supposes, but not something he couldn’t adapt to. But, regardless, he remains on video, the same smile he presented when making the post still clearly on his lips. ] Is there a reason for your lack of discomfort?

[ He seems curious if anything. He can’t imagine this man was as lost as Heejung once was. Regardless, he continues. ] My solution is rather humble. [ Just magic. ] The solution only works with a wish, you see. [ There’s a serious flicker of emotion on his face, though it’s extremely fleeting. ]

Not particularly. It is not an ideal situation, but it is the one I find myself in, and I will make the best of it.

I have no real wish of my own. Only a desire to understand myself better.

No real desire…? [ He looks subtly shocked by this piece of information. ] If that's the case, isn’t your wish akin to being able to properly find yourself? [ A pause-- ] Living a passionate life, perhaps?

I'm satisfied with my life as I live it. I've "found myself", as you put it.

I want more knowledge about why I am as I am. It's a personal matter, you might say.

Knowledge is also a desire. But, to what extent would you be willing to go, I wonder... [ A brief pause-- ] A personal matter? [ He spares a couple of seconds, merely pondering on that concept, and what it could possibly entail. But, missing his usual edge, he clearly doesn't meet the mark. ]

A wish for knowledge is a desire, but it's one that only time can fulfill.

I would go fairly far for what I want, but I doubt anyone else could understand or realize my vision.

It's a matter of my personal satisfaction.

Do you really believe that? [ There's a bit of a challenging edge to his voice, but he doesn't allow it to take focus of the conversation. Not for long, anyway. ] What if one were to manipulate time?

Ah... personal satisfaction. Aren't all wishes made for that reason? [ While he's heard of "love" as an excuse or justification... weren't those same people equally enriched by their own wish, regardless of their own words or self-proclaimed "sacrifice." There was always a semblance of "oneself" in every desire. But that wasn't to say he hated or resented those sentiments.

Quite the opposite. The more desperate, the better fit (for proactive manipulation to take place...) these individuals were to the situation. But, it was rather meaningless, if it didn't involve her, and admittedly all this talk only increases his desire to see her. But, despite that, he continues on, asking a question he thought, but perhaps, explicitly avoided. Inquisitively, he speaks-- ] What do you think about "love"?

I don't wish to rush matters. I'd rather savor it. I have a particular idea in mind.

I believe all wishes are. In fact, my wish is for my self, for the absolute realization of it.

Love? An odd question. What kind of love do you mean?

Feel free to share your ideas. After all, I'm all ears.

[ Finally, someone who echoed his own sentiments so well. ] I suppose that's assuming your wish is within your own boundaries. But, there are men, who lack the means to certain wishes. [ For example, good health, good fortunate, or even perfect vengeance. ]

All forms. [ He honestly doesn't know much about it to formulate anything specific, but that's not something he'd readily admit to. ]

It's too soon to speak of it. I'm not sure yet, and it's a personal matter, as I said. [He's not about to share his true self with a stranger, not yet.] I will have to see how things develop, if and when I'm able to return home. I doubt it's something I can orchestrate here, but I believe I can achieve my wish.

Love is an emotion associated with affection and warmth. One can love another passionately, as in romantic love, but one can also love friends, family, country, God.

I love my God, and I seek to do as He wills, which is why I wish to realize my self fully, the self He created.

[He's not being entirely truthful, but close enough.]

You should consider yourself lucky. Not many people are capable of granting their own desires. [ In principle, that’s why he came into existence, wasn’t it? Honestly, the next words don’t entirely sink in as well as most do. Perhaps, simply because he was so faithless and inexperienced in matters of the heart. ]

Wouldn’t it be easier to turn your back on him? [ But, just as quickly as the statement comes, he retracts is quietly. ] I meant no offense. [ But, honestly, he's disappointed in this individual's lack of a wish. Though, it's a vague, diminutive thought, he wonders if this man's opinion would change with the passage of time. ]

That's true, few are. I do consider myself a fortunate man.

[He's not about to tell anyone that what he wishes is for everyone to die in utter agony. That's his personal matter.]

I take no offense. Turning my back on God was something I did once, but it served no purpose. What he has made me for is something I wish to do. I look forward to it.

As do I. [ He'll keep this in mind. It was entertaining at the very least, and while he wasn't entirely familiar with the individual on the other line-- the concepts he seemed to be presenting were ones that were both strikingly unique and unbearably familiar all the same.

[ jieun has been keeping to himself (and to jihae) since arriving because it is confusing and troublesome — just like getting this device to work is. but he cannot ignore the presence of the wizard at all, tbh. ]

You're here ... [ uttered softly as if to himself, as if ... to convince himself of it. he doesn't want to be in the same place as you at all, wiz. ] You don't find it discomforting?

[ The last statement, admittedly offends him and his Delicate Sensibilities, and it momentarily shows, however not for long, as its soon replaced by the same grossly smug smile he always seems to wear so well. ] Is there a reason for your lack of faith in my powers? [ w o w, i mean after all he did for you animals, where’s da luv??? ]

It's none of your business. [ Just leave him alone with Jihae ok? ok. ] Because ... we were kidnapped here.

[ But oh yeah you aren't accustomed to being whisked away by the whims of another, huh?? Whether Jieun is aware he's offended his Magical Buttholeness, he doesn't show. As usual, his expression is akin to a porcelain doll's. ]

None of my business? [ If he could laugh in Jieun’s face, he totally would right now, but he remains calm despite these words. ] That’s not entirely accurate. In my line of work, I’m used to traveling between the border of the continent you’re familiar with, as well as the human world. [ What’s one more place???

And oh right, actually, the pets were familiar with the human world too, thanks to him. Oops. ]

I won’t force you to believe otherwise. [ A pause. Perhaps, he’s thinking of an adequate question, one that preferably didn’t display any shred of his own perceived state of weakness (powers don’t just come out of nowhere… give him ur memories…). But, seeing as how there’s nothing, he continues on, with his pointless smile. ]

It's truly a shame. I thought you had a chance at winning.

Do you think I haven't learned anything about how you are? [ He may not be in FULL WIZARD HATE mode because he isn't madly in love with Heejung atm but still. you're kind of an asshole lbr. ] But it doesn't matter right now, I suppose.

Memories related to my wish? What memories would those be? Memories of this place or memories of my duty to protect my planet? If you mean the latter, you can keep your wish-granting to yourself.

[ Maybe this man didn't desire it nearly as much as he initially expected. But, regardless, he wasn't against bending some rules. Or, if anything, releasing information that may have not been entirely accurate. A lie. Much like the one he fed that Black Cat, but before he could allow himself too much reflection, he turns back to address the sender of this particular text. ]

[ Against taking risks? Hardly. He's taken plenty of them. He nearly died trying to save Earth from a space colony collision. Shadow is a daredevil when he wants to be, let alone self-sacrificial, but in this case, it's the risk of causing an awful rift. ]

Not at all, but should my memory be skewed, I could end up destroying the planet I'm meant to protect. I can't take that chance.
