Podcast: Local petless vet and animal control officers that are friends, hang out, etc. People bring their pets in for visits, or animal control has to chase down strays/wildlife.

Twist: Slowly they discover the local animals are changing, becoming stronger, more intelligent while their owners are getting... stranger. More like the animals than the animals. The local wildlife starts to congregate and watch at night. Turns out the local pet mart is staffed by aliens infecting the animals so they can take over the world.
