The straw that broke the camel's back.
For the past month I have noticed that the bed has been making a scree, cha-thump when ever the wife or I would get in or out of it. So a few weeks ago, I figured it was just the central support of the main frame, so I got under the bed and checked the central lateral support and feet and tightened them, since the were both loose.
The noise didn’t go away, so after promising this weekend I would take the bed apart and look at it, I got to it this afternoon. After getting the mattress and box spring off I saw that the lateral support feet had just crushed the carpet so I got a couple of wood blocks the spread the load and tightened it all over again. Then I noticed something wasn’t right about the bottom of the box spring, yes, undoubtedly the central metal channel had snapped in the middle of the bed. The sexual Olympics over stretched the support systems all right. So I thought to myself, how do I repair this. Ding, ding, ding. Rebar and ¼” electrical zip strips. So I cut two 3 foot sections of rebar and after hammering the channel mostly straight I tied it all together with the zip strips, I used about 20 of them. Yes, zip strips, not just for restraining criminals and spouses any more, now for extra strength bed reinforcement.
Anyway, the sound went away and I am refusing to answer my wife’s questions about whether her ass is fat. I like breathing. Breathing is good.
