Mab's Blair

Mainly on Dreamwidth

I don't post a lot here, but with crossposting from Dreamwidth broken I will probably post quite a bit less.

I'll still be logging in to attend to Sentinel Thursday (and boy am I glad I imported that to DW back in the day) and read the flist, but I'm basically more active on DW, Tumblr, Discord, and our TS chat than I am on LJ. I'm pretty sure I know where to find people. If you want to know where to find me, I'm still using the same old email of mabinbrowne at gmail dot com. :-)

I have written fic!

And even finished it, more to the point. You can read at either Dreamwidth or AO3.

Nothing To Say That I Want To Cry Out Loud
6,200 words
Jim/Blair, explicit, first time, rimming, bottom Jim

Summary: Jim and Blair sit down after the events of Nightshift and have a mature discussion about the diss.
Actually, yeah nah. They ignore their issues and have ill-advised sex instead.

Excursions

My friend EE is here all the way from the great USA and we have had a week's holiday so far driving around the North Island, with generally a good time being had by all. (Barring the fact that my credit card got hacked, which has luckily presented inconvenience rather than 'challenges'.)

Spa baths are not always the plus that motel advertising tries to sell them as. Te Pa Tu is worth every cent of its eye-watering cost, Whanganui is a very pretty city, New Plymouth's beach boardwalk is a good walk, and the Ruakuri cave entrance looks like something out of a science fiction novel before you get to the beautiful and amazing primordial limestone.

So now we are going to blob a coupla days before heading to the South Island. Exhaustion is the watchword but a happy one.

2022 Fic Round-Up

The writing round-up is a bit sad this year tbh. I wrote about 38,000 words but didn't post much. Not quite 10k words got posted to my SPN pseud.

My Mab pseud didn't see much action, but such as it was, here goes

In A Spin - finally finished, my last Sentinel Thursday fic ever. OMG, what a thought. Sometimes the guys are steadying influences on each other, and sometimes they're not. Four ficlets united by a theme. (Only the last ficlet got written this year.) 2414 words in total.

All the Grisly Legions written for Spook-Me if not finished in time for Spook-Me. SPN and pretty gen. Dean Winchester's determined to find Castiel in Purgatory. Of course, everything else in Purgatory is determined to find Dean Winchester. 1980 words

Stars in Their Eyes My Secret Santa story for the lovely SallyMn. 1621 words. Gen. Jim and Blair go camping and stargazing.

'Tis the season and all that

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. I sat in the sun on my daughters' deck to have Xmas lunch and now I'm home listening to down-pouring rain and thunder. The weather has truly been a game of two halves today.

Spouse was very smug about one of my pressies this year. 'You will never guess and you will truly like it,' he gloated. Right on both counts. He found a very good condition 1980 Blake's 7 annual - an item I got as a birthday present in 1981 but gave away when I left home. (I regretted it like I regretted giving away my copy of Price of the Phoenix.) One happy Mab, one smug husband.

It's been a while, innit?

It's cold and wet in Nyu Zillund.

I'm out of practice with a cat young enough to get the zoomies, but it's very pleasant experiencing it again.

I am writing, but it's for my Supernatural pseud? I do have a Jim and Blair story on the go as well though.

The queen is dead, long live the queen

Madam the Eldest is still grieving wee dafto, as are we all, but she's decided her grief will be comforted by a new kitty. So here is our little princess, a chinchilla/ragdoll mix. The sweetie and I were a little dubious about getting another tuxedo cat so soon, but this little darling fitted the bill and wasn't a long drive away.
