Hey everyone! *waves* I am thinking about getting a tattoo and have a few questions:
I want the lyric “Hold up my head when my head won’t hold on” and I sort of want it going down my spine (I know that’s sort of kitschy but that’s why I love it…er…being that the spine does hold up your head). That line has just meant so much to me since I first heard it so many years ago and I have always loved/grew up on DMB.
My questions are…do you think this is a bad place to get a first tattoo?! Especially of that “length” going down my spine? Also, do you have any suggestions for fonts? And do you think it would look better going up or down my spine? And any thoughts on plain black ink or doing something with color?
I know that’s a ton of questions, but let me know anything that you have suggestions on!! Thanks!!!

welcome to the hotel california
I started going to summer camp when I was... I don't even remember. My sleepover camp has been my summer home for years and years.
At the end of the week we have a dance and at the end of the dance we stand in a big circle with our arms around each other and we listen to Hotel California because "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave." I realize overall the song is really.. strange for a camp sort of theme song, but it's ours.
This is the first summer without camp. We closed for an unknown amount of time. And so I got a camp tattoo, complete with some Hotel California lyrics.

Anti-Flag
I got this tattoo at Zebra in Berkeley last June. I wanted it to look like a stencil spray paint kind of thing. It's from my favourite Anti-Flag song "The End (for You My Friend)." The band has been espcially influential and inspiring to me and I had the opportunity to meet them last summer and show them my tattoo.
