Once upon a time, were_duck came up with five questions to ask me:

1. Which podfic are you really proud of right now and why?

Of the solo ones I've completed over the last year, I'd say "Jeffery Nullier's 'Man with Fedora'" that I recorded for PodficBigBang. Some parts of it gave me an opportunity to work on my expressiveness, and I managed to complete it during a rough RL patch. Plus it included sound art from aron_kristina that was SO COOL.

2. What's in your tbr pile?

I'm close to completing my pending-multi-year pile, including a Middleman and an SG-1 story. Then I've got a couple of cool Yuletide stories on deck, one of which will be multi-voice and complicated, and the other one solo voice and complicated. :)

3. What's your favorite and least favorite part of convention-going?

My favorite part is being able to talk face-to-face with people who feel as enthusiastic about the things I like as I do, and share and process all the FEELINGS I have about those things in real time. And the costuming, both dressing up and seeing what others come up with. My least favorite part is usually at cons with panels featuring TV/movie guests and cringing at the inappropriate questions that some folks will ask. Because it seems like there's always at least ONE, and it trips my embarrassment squick so hard.

4. What fannish meme or prevailing opinion do you wish would just diaf already?

This is kind of old now, but that Martin Freeman is made of kittens. I adore him, his acting, and his portrayal of John Watson, and I just... I don't get where the kitten thing came from or how it applies to him. And that whole kitten-sweater-with-creepy-eyes meme is CREEPY. *shudder*

5. If you could get on a plane today all expenses paid, where would you go?

I got all nostalgic for Switzerland recently when I mentioned to a friend that I'd been fortunate enough to see Reichenbach Falls years ago; I had only gone partway up the falls and not to the top, which I regret. But I'd also love to do a grand tour of the UK, which would probably include a whole bunch of Doctor Who filming locations.

I've had a mental block about posting recently, and a lot of it comes from knowing that I have two unanswered memes hanging over my head. That I asked for! Which are supposed to be for fun! And I shouldn't be so worried about them! But that's me.

So to procrastinate further and/or to start a new meme(!) that will give me an additional sense of responsibility, I'll ask you folks this:

Name one of my podfics, and I'll find and post the most hilarious blooper from my unedited recording of it.

It may be a spoonerism, a substituted word, a bodily noise, a string of curses -- you won't know until you ask! Check out my podfic announcements for what's available. (Ack, I gotta get workin' on that master list post...)

THEN I got inspired by FayJay's post and, um, tried do-it-yourself karaoke. Good Lord, outside of a bar and no alcohol involved? How do I own only one karaoke track (or any karaoke tracks, for that matter)? A friend had been looking casually for a particular seasonal song and not finding it so I raided iTunes, bought 12 different versions of it, including a karaoke one, and burned a disk to give as a gift. I had this song in my head for WEEKS.

So far I like the casualness of posting such stuff on SoundCloud, but after doing bunches of podfics, OMG NOT EDITING SOUND FILES AND RELEASING THEM. I think this may turn into an exercise in being less anxious and more accepting of imperfections.
