Wow. It's been a while since I've (really) updated. But I was down for quite a bit because of that stupid pneumonia. Been on my feet for a while now, and been to Stockholm three times the past couple of weeks. So I thought I'd post some pretty pictures of what I've seen. Well, a little bit of what I've seen. That would include the Vasa, the old part of Stockholm (Gamla Stan), and many, many pretty dresses from the 17th, 18th, 19th & early 20th C.. (Including one I can see Lady Mary wearing). Pretty pictures under the cut... ( Collapse )
So I've been down with a kick-ass (as in it's kicking my ass, not as in 'cool' or 'awesome') influenza since saturday. My temperature has constantly been going up and between 37.5°C (99.5°F) and 39.9°C (103.82°F) (my normal body temperature is on the low side, ca. 36.5-36.7-ish). I've also been showing all the classic signs of influenza - head ache, chills, loss of appetite, aches, coughing. It was kinda creepy watching the season finale of Downton...
Well today I had had enough! So I went to the doctor (not that I could have before, they would just have told me (over the phone) 'It's the flu, there's nothing we can do - don't come in'. Well. Turns out I've got pneumonia, for the first time in my life. And I'm not a fan. Now I'm on antibiotics, cough medicine and rest.
The worst thing is not being sick (and all alone in a foreign country). It's the fact that saturday my mom turns 65 and my nephew turns 4, and I can't be there. My poor little nephew who just adores me (not kidding - when I'm around NO ONE can play with us, not even mom and dad). My sister will tell him today I think. His party (with loads of home baked goodies, hot chocolate, etc) is on sunday and I'm so miffed, that I'm gonna miss both that and my mom's giant birthday bash (on saturday). My mom says they'll pull the big iMac out in the living room and then have me on facetime/skype, so people can say hello. Like I really wanna be plastered on a HD big screen when I've been sick for a week?! Really mom! But I suppose it's just to make me feel a part of it, and that's nice. Will have to clean my self up a bit, though. But then again, my medicine should be working by then.
Any way, that's a little about why I've been so quiet this past week. Cheers
I can't get the stupid LJ-cut to work, so sorry y'all! I don't have any money, so I can't buy those little LJ-gifts... Instead I bring you flowers from Uppsala Botanical Gardens:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I hope you have a wonderful day and gets lots and lots of blowjobs presents.
I just watched the s3 finale of Castle. And OH. MY. GOD! I. It. How. They can't! WTF! ARRRRGHHH! Thank GOD I haven't seen it before now - I think I would have died, if I had had to wait several MONTHS to watch the s4 premiere.
But for me American films are by definition 'foreign'. ;) Otherwise: 'Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain' or/and Wo hu cang long (Crouching tiger, hidden dragon), and NO! for Heaven's sake, stop with the remakes and learn how to read subtitles (if the rest of us can - and yes I know some countries sub - you can)!
Then my mom came to visit. And as per usual we went all cultural. For one month Aarhus has hosted the 'Sculptures by the sea'-exhibition which we chose the perfect day to go see. The weather was wonderful - not too hot, not too cold. There were 66 sculptures and here are my favourites:( Collapse )
Then, after passing my exams, I participated in 'The Great Archaeological Cake Day' at Moesgård. It was fun - until the stomach ache entered the scene. Any way, the idea was that you should bring your a cake inspired by your latest exam. ( Collapse )
