A meeting with the founder of Oeil Public agency about his story on Slavutich, an abandoned town near the Chernobyl nuclear station, will take place this Wednesday January 7, 2009 from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Galerie Chappe, 21, rue Chappe, Paris 18ème. A visit of the exhibition will start at 7-30 p.m. at Galerie Paul Frèches, 12, rue André Barsacq, Paris, 18ème.

The photographs in the Winter series deal with the mental state we enter during the dark period of the year. Between 2004 and 2007, Lars Tunbjork traveled around Sweden, trying to capture the mood that the winter months put us in here in northern Europe. The project became a way of doing something creative with the feelings of depression that beset him in the winter season. He shows us snowed-in playgrounds, streets and houses, but the selection of pictures also includes interiors, from cafes, restaurants and shops. We see people in their homes, at work or at parties.This series of photographs has another tone, another colour ranger, another temperament than his previous work, yet we recognise his style, his understated humour and frequently absurd subjects.
