The intelligence of mules
It's a pity Stephen Fry made this comment about mules on Twitter today, especially after one had been obliging enough to carry him around.

When I saw the picture he posted of himself on the mule, I thought, "What a lovely mule!" and "Stephen looks a bit heavy for it!"
His comment reflects badly on him rather than mules, horses and donkeys. In fact mules have been found to be more intelligent than horses and donkeys.
Grumpy mules "highly intelligent"
Also, "equine" includes donkeys (Equus asinus).
