A lazy day of doing nothing led to me watching some TVO because we couldn't be bothered to change the channel.
I discovered there's a kid's show on there that teaches kids about math and counting, and features lots of adorable little rodents and bunnies, and plenty of French Canadian rats.
My favourite quote of the day today, courtesy of the international sales manager:
Cheers, see you in a few weeks. I'm off to Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen tonight!
That kind of blew my mind. I haven't had anyone in the office bid me adieu en route to Ushuaia, but I do know someone pulling into Ulaan Baatar on the trans-Mongolian railway tomorrow.
I think we all know which way I'm leaning at the moment...
We had What? euthanized yesterday. Her pneumonia was getting increasingly worse, and she wasn't responding to her medication. She was so brave and strong and alert, but we really had no choice. We consulted the vet and he agreed that it was heartbreaking but she had virtually no chance of improving.
Moo, of the neurological degenerative disease is walking around on my couch right now. And while she doesn't quite walk the way a rat normally walks, she's got a good pace going, and she's even trying to climb.
So... now what? We have an appointment to put her to sleep on Friday. But now that she can actually walk - we're completely thrown for a loop. Yesterday she was slithering like a lizard. Today she's creeping around.
The two vets seem to be playing phone tag and I haven't heard back from them, even though I've left plenty of messages at both offices. We're starting to think it could be a misdiagnosis, and she's just old or injured.
This journal tends to be reserved for friends-only stuff, more of a journal than a blog really. But I've gotten around to actually starting my travel/photography blog now. There's only 1 entry so far, but there are a lot of good ones in the works. Should anyone be interested, it can be found here and there will likely be very little overlap between the two.
Backup my radiohead regularly. Admit my true feelings to dzuunmod. Take janetmweiss spooning. Find a better queer. Ask my boss for an australia. Be nicer to ubergreenkat.
I am safely in Bangkok, after some airline snaffus. My connecting flight from JFK to Tokyo was delayed 7 hours, which would have caused me to miss my flight to Bangkok and have to wait another day. The airline was able to stick me on a Delta Airlines flight to Tokyo instead. My luggage has not made the journey, and right now my bag is somewhere between JFK and Bangkok. *sigh* It should hopefully turn up tomorrow. Until then... I am shopping on Japan Airways money.
Matt is now beardless. Beardless!!! I forgot how much fun it is to kiss someone without facial hair.
Enterprise had all kinds of issues on Saturday and it took over an hour to get the car, and over a half hour today just to return it. They gave me a 50% off coupon for my next rental... and the coupon expired on 31/07. Fail. Epic fail.
