Survey: Miami residents named most attractive

HAHAHAHA... Being born and raised in Miami, I thought this was hilarious...

The Sunshine State's southern metropolis has the most beautiful people, a new survey says. The online survey of 125,000 people ranked 25 U.S. cities in 45 categories. If you live in Miami, consider yourself among the most attractive people in the United States.

The Sunshine State's metropolis has the most beautiful people, according to an online survey of "America's Favorite Cities" by Travel + Leisure magazine, while Philadelphia came in last at No. 25.

"I'm not surprised at all, but I'm not in that group" joked Bill Talbert, president of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, about the city's attractive people rating.

"When you're here, you kind of take it for granted. Then you travel, and when you come back you say, 'Oh my, look what we have here,"' he added.

Although Philadelphia placed last for the second consecutive year, a tourism official said the city was happy to be in the top 25.

The online survey of 125,000 people ranked 25 U.S. cities in 45 categories ranging from most affordable to friendliest people.

Las Vegas and New Orleans took the top spots as best city for a wild weekend, and Washington, D.C., was voted tops for historical sites/monuments. But Los Angeles residents may have a problem with being ranked last in the friendliest people and most intelligent people categories.

If you want friendly, you can't do any better than Charleston, South Carolina, and if you're looking for the smartest locals, head to Seattle, Washington, according to the survey.

New York received the most No. 1 ratings, getting top marks for shopping, arts, diverse residents and skyline. But the Big Apple limped in last for peace and quiet and affordability.

On the quieter side
The poll showed San Antonio, Texas, takes the smallest bite out of your budget and is the most affordable city, while peace and quiet is easiest found in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which also came in last in all nightlife categories.

Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Austin, Texas, took the gold, silver and bronze in the cleanest city competition, while New Orleans had the most work to do in keeping things tidy.

"We were really excited to see how some of the smaller cities took center stage," said Travel + Leisure editor Stirling Kelso.

"Portland again did very well, ranking high in environmental awareness, outdoor life and public transportation."

Kelso said the accessibility of a city, largely through its good public transportation services, will often result in higher survey rankings.

"New York and Washington are very accessible and did well. We were surprised with Los Angeles' low rankings, but perhaps that's because it's not a really accessible city," she added.

Honolulu topped the field in best for a romantic escape and best weather. Theme-park rich Orlando in Florida was voted best for a family vacation while Las Vegas came in last in the category.

You took the right road and ended up in the wrong place.
Begin again.
You reached the top of a mountain only to find yourself at the bottom of a new one.
Begin again.
You dotted every "i" and forgot to cross your "t's".
Begin again.
You loved with all of your heart and it got broken anyway.
Begin again.
You won the race but they gave first place to someone else.
Begin again.
You followed your North star and ended up at the South pole.
Begin again.
You achieved a big dream.
Dream again.

myspace drama.

Last Friday rolled around and I somehow found the courage to invite Karla out to a movie -- it was a movie I was really lookin forward to seeing last year during the summer, cause they'd ALWAYS play the previews for it. So she followed along, we made plans, etc etc. She got outta work at 9, so we were gonna go watch a late movie. so around 9:45 when I was about to get ready, I got on her myspace page to leave her a sweet comment. I see this guy whom she's friends with and she talks to (Freddy) -- so I click on his page and you wont believe what I find. Karla had left him all these little graphics about LOVE and SEX. was definitely more than a friendship, even though dude lives in jersey.

so I go fucking crazy on her, I call her and leave her a voicemail and send her a few nasty texts, cancel our date and tell her what I "stumbled upon." She called me back a bit later, when I was heading out the door to go to the movies with my little sister. I wanted to be by myself so I turn off my phone and left it at home. We head to the movies blah blah blah. We come back at like 3AM at which I check my voicemail, its some guy babbling and i cant understand half the shit he's saying. half way through the message i realize its jersey boy TELLING ME OFF. madd fucking dirty, and i'm fucking irate that she has the audacity to have HIM leave me a voicemail. ESP one which ended in "call me back so we could fuckin handle dis" WHAT KIND OF MAN IS THAT?!

So saturday at work I'm on the floor and she approaches me about it. She takes it as a joke and I tell her to leave me alone. I'm walking all over the store, she's following me, grabbing me, i'm pushin her off me, and I'm afraid I'm gonna fuckin POP i was SO pissed and she's taking it as a joke. So I get in her face about it, a few ppl noticed, but i made what i said stern and low-key. I told her IDK what kind of ppl she involves herself with, but the second she lets somebody disrespect me again -- i want NOTHING to do with her. She says she didnt hear the disgusting voicemail, but that doesnt even make any sense to me. I simply call her a liar and walk away. Spent the whole day calling her a liar, and she swore she had no idea why.

I'm not gonna pretend like I DIDNT dramatize the situation. I know I did, but everyone gets to a point where they have a NO-TOLERANCE policy on bullshit like that. It fucking hurts. I even told John about her and how I missed her, etc -- and she's tryina play me like a fucking fool. Whether its intentional at all, she cant tell me they had a typical "online" relationship/friendship. He's coming down here next week.

Jennifer also invited me to go to NYC the last weekend of January AKA my birthday weekend. But its supposed to be Jen & her boyfriend in one room and Karla & I in another. I dont see how thats gonna work. I really want to fucking go, its been over a year...

AANNNDDD, just for the record -- I miss Los. he hasnt spoke to me or called in a fuckin week. He IMed me yesterday, but I didnt bother writing back. I'm pissed at him too..

Talk about being an ALPHA BITCH.

INTERVIEW BY gj435

1. I lived in Florida for a short time and one thing that's different is that the women actively persue men. Why is that and are you the type to persue too?
Never. Very rarely, if not never, have I ever persued a man... or even tried! I'm incredibly shy, and even if an attractive guy hits on me -- I decline. The most I've done is shine my sweet little smile, and then look away. BBUUUTTTT, I do have a little trick/secret when I want the guy to make the first move.

2. What's your favorite little gadget?
HAH! I just spoke to a few coworkers about something like this. I'm sure they would ALL answer their vibrator or something... but I've never even seen one in real life. sooo... I would have to say my sidekick3 because it always kills time for me whenever I'm bored!

3. What are a few things that would make your life easier other than money?
Losing weight and keeping it off. Sometimes I dont go out because I dont like the way I look or the way my clothes fits me, and I'm just too self-concious. I dont exactly have self-esteem issues but I'm definitely more than normally attentive to my weight and what I eat.

4. If I'm not mistaken, you work in sales. What are one of your tips to hooking a sale?
Umm, being knowledgable and giving them tips&tricks on how to use the product. Not just, "this foundation is great" but "this foundation includes umbrian clay that neutralizes and balances out oil production in the skin. a little bit goes such a long way, just mix some in with an oil-free moisturizer!"

5. What's one thing that people have trouble understanding about you?
My insecurities about my weight that stems from my mother; She's 10x worse. And my inability to show emotions and react to peoples emotions. I've never really had anybody like that when I was little (not even my parents) so when people feel that way about me, I have a tendancy to pull away. I dont speak about my problems and everything thats going on inside me just because I'm not used to it. Its not easy to open up to people and leaves me feeling a little vulnerable, like I just gave them a little peice of me... corny ;x
