Kielbasa help needed!

A couple of weeks ago my husband picked up a package of Kielbasa in a "buy this & get all these things for free!" sale at the grocery store. I've eaten Kielbasa, but have never prepared it. I am totally lost on how to use this sausage!

So, I have Kielbasa that I want/need to use.. Ideas on how to use it, please?

Thanks LJ friends!

Moon

Up until recently, I've always taken the whole NASA/ space travel thing for granted.. it wasn't very cool, didn't mean much to me, etc.  But then I moved to Florida.  I must say, seeing a space shuttle launch is an experience. Going to Kennedy Space Center, being next to many of the rockets that they've sent to space is an awe inspiring experience.  I mean.. dude.. those things can be HUGE!!

We were at Kennedy the day they dedicated the Japanese sections of the ISS that Endeavor is currently installing. The workmanship, the care, the amazing things that can and will be done with it are amazing.  We went to Johnson Space Center and saw Mission Control, we visited the practice tank (where they test out all of the space walks before they head up there)  and on Sunday, we went to church Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, home church of one of the Astronauts on Endeavor right now.   It has become real.  Space is a really really cool place.

While in space we can do many many expieriments that we just can't do on Earth. Check it out someday. science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2003/1…  is just one place that talks about what they have discovered while up there.

We watched the replay of the moon landing tonight as it was shown on the History Channel. It was amazing... I guess I'm a bit dumbfounded.. speachless you could say.. and I'm sure I'm babbling.

In short: Space. It's a cool place.

It's been a while since I've posted here.

I get to spend a week with Kevin. I pick him up from the airport in an hour (which means I should really change into real clothes & get out of the PJs.)    We're going to do some wedding things, we're going to an awesome restaurant in Tampa  http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/… It's a cuban restaurant. It's very yummy!

Then I'm taking him to Disney on Friday. I think we're going to Magic Kingdom because that's the most HELLO THIS IS DISNEY of all of the parks.

I got a wireless router for Christmas from Mommy & Daddy.. and it is SO nice to not have to worry about cords anymore & that I can really use my laptop as a laptop.

Merry Christmas to you all & Happy New Year!

My aunt Beth died this morning.  She was in her 50's. She had breast cancer that spread to her brain & spinal cord. I'm glad God took her quickly, it would have killed her family to see her suffer for a long time.

Pray for my Uncle Bob, as I'm not sure how he'll handle her death.. she was very religious.. he wasn't...

Pray for her kids, as they lost their father when they were young due to an illness too

Pray for me.. that I can still be an effective teacher as I deal with my grief.

Thanks,

Mere

Prayer Request

I have a prayer request.

My Aunt Beth Developed breast cancer about 5 years ago and battled it well. She went into remission and has lived a great life. Well, about 6-8 months ago they discovered that she had relapsed. She's been undergoing treatment since then and she's had her ups & downs. Last week she ended up being admitted to the hospital and was admitted to intensive care.  While there she had a seizure and the doctors discovered the cancer had spread to her brain. The doctors don't see a positive end to all of this, but they have been giving her radiation treatments to hopefully treat it.

So I would appreciate that everyone who reads this would pray for my Aunt Beth & her family.

I got to see Kevin! pt1

So this past week I traveled north to the hinterlands..  heh.. actually the weather in Michigan was wonderful!  Mom & Dad came along this time so that we could do some major wedding planning. Wednesday was the day to plan everything. We met with the caterer at 10, the pastry chef/wedding cake lady at 11 and then the room coordinator at 12:30.  UGH!   After we met with the room coordinator we finally got to taste the cake because "the cakes taste best when at room temperature" apparently that was at least 30-45 mins after she gave them to us. It was painful for Kevin to wait that long.

Kevin was all prepared to tell the chef that we wanted marble cake & was very shocked & depressed when he found out that chocolate, white, yellow or marble" were none of the choices. He instead got choices like rhapsody, and peanut butter buttercream, and chocolate fudge, and lemon, & strawberry.   We did enjoy tasting the cakes, they were all rather yummy.

Mom & dad freaked out that we didn't/couldn't block enough rooms out at Webbers so they traveled over to the Best Western & blocked out more rooms. We stayed at Webbers & vegged a bit.

After that we headed to the mall, Dad got measured for his tux, we got to meet Kevin's coworker Brent, and I found out why Kevin thinks his (now former) manager is a prick.  (another story for another day..)    After we got the tux measured we met with the flower lady. Then we headed to Macy's to buy a baby gift.  By now it was 4pm.

We then headed over to CUAA to meet with Nancy Reiter to put the deposit down for the Chapel for the actual wedding service.

We then headed to Target to buy a few things & headed back to Webbers because we were meeting Kevin's mom & siblings at 7pm.

(Sounds like a full day.. it's not done yet..)

We headed out to a bar/grill on State st. (Red Hawk I think) and we ate yummy food there.  After dinner we walked around downtown for a bit & headed back to Webbers to show Kevin's mom a picture of my dress.

Then we collapsed at nearly 11.

We did more over the next few days, but yeah.. Wednesday was a very busy day.. I'm tired just writing about it.

I'm engaged!

Kevin proposed on Wednesday and it was humorous and bumbling.. but it was uniquely Kevin's way of doing it. We spent all of Wednesday, Thursday night, all of Friday & most of Saturday together. We had a great time walking around Ann Arbor & generally spending quality time together. On Saturday he introduced me to Aubree's pizza.. which has become my new favorite pizza.

I'm still getting used to flashing the ring around everywhere. You can see pictures of us & of the ring in this album. http://cuaa.facebook.com/album.php… no facebook login needed to see it.

things that annoy me

- people who refer to their significant other as "my man" I have no idea why it bothers me, but it does.

- when little kids keep tapping on my side in effort to get me to answer their question or pay attention to them faster. "I am not a door. Knocking on me will not make my mouth open any faster!"

- when I look forward to Friday nights to relax & when it becomes Friday night all I want to do is every busy task I've been overlooking all week. I clean & scrub and never relax!

- that my contacts often have a mind of their own and I randomly can't focus.

- that I see all kinds of people on TV and in person cuddling & kissing and enjoying each other.. and I can't have it because my other is 1200 miles away.

and in the end... it's the last one that annoys me the most.
