Since a few people seemed to take offense to our bitching in public, we decided to create a closed community where we (and other like minded people) can bitch about fan fic and fandom in private. Keep in mind, this is *not* confined to bitching about the LOTR/LOTR RPS fandom or about LOTR/LOTR RPS fan fic. You can certainly bitch about other fandoms as well.
If you're a member, feel free to bitch away. However, if you *are* bitching here, please adhere to the following:
1) Do not take other people's comments outside the community. If they're your personal comments, you can do with them as you like. If you have permission from the poster to post their comments elsewhere, feel free to do as you like. But do not just randomly link to posts here or copy/paste posts into other LJ's. That's not the purpose of this community.
2) Please consider what you're posting and whether or not it *really* should be viewed by the general public. If you mention names (author, story, etc), or if you mention definite parts of a story, or if you mention anything that reveals the identity of the person/story you're bitching about, PLEASE mark your post as friends only so the general public can't view it. A lot of what's done here is ranting/venting and is often followed up by a more polite, thought out email to the author from the poster. We all need to blow off steam though, and this is the place to let us do so.
3) No fighting/flaming. Yeah, you can disagree, but we're all adults here so let's disagree maturely.
If you're not a member and you would like to be, feel free to apply by contacting
idiosyncratic. But don't be upset if you don't get approved. Not everyone will get in. Sorry, but that's how life works.
