LOTR Quotes

After that really annoying spam post, this community is back on its feet again -- funny how a spammer did some good for a change. I'm modding, at least temporarily, and looking for others to share duties with. So please read the rules and post your LotR, Tolkien, or cast-related quotes!

I think this is a pretty good quote to start again with: Guillermo Del Toro went onto the TORn forums, talking about the the episodic nature of the Hobbit as a story. He says,

We need to make sure there are "long lines" emotionally (growth, friendship, etc) amongst Thorin & Co and dramatically (how episodes "build" upon each other ) that will make everything feel more fluid.

In order no doubt to console him for the wreckage the script made of his competence, motivations, consistency and table manners Jackson handed out not only a really, really good death scene (With Added Blazing Plummet!) but an extended scene of frantic grief, and one heck of a mad scene. A director shouldn't do that to a classically trained actor, you know. It's like firewater.

It just struck me as amusing.

This made me laugh so hard, I had to track down a community to share it.

Just the resident lurker with a slight question.

I recall that one time, a Lord of the Rings parody was posted here that involved George Bush and the United Nations? If anyone has a link I would be... really happy and thankful.

I'm looking for someone who can write music to be the songwriter on what promises to be the biggest thing ever to hit Broadway, just as soon as it's written. It's the tragic story of feuding bands of Rohirrim and Uruk-hai, torn apart by the deep racial divide that runs between man and orc, and the romance that blooms between a young Uruk and a captain in the army of Rohan. It's going to end like no other play: each night, the set will be completely burnt down in the final battle, and then rebuilt by little Oompa Loompa stagehands in time for the next day's matinee.
