Holiday Time!

Off I go to Taipei again!!!

*cheers*

Ok, so maybe I should back up a little and mention how school started in September and how I had a full course load. My summer student volunteer turned into a part time job too so that meant an income (yay money!) but also more time spent on campus. Good thing boss is really supportive of my school work being my first concern and labs=flexible hours.

So I survived the term and then had to survive the exams... my last one was yesterday, hopefully the grades are ok. *crosses fingers*

But for now? It's FREEDOM TIME!!!

(And packing and all the other stuff I have to do before I leave the house for 2 weeks.)

But still FREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

So I had an interesting start this morning...

As I was getting off the bus heading to work I tripped on some protruding tree roots right outside the bus and fell forward onto the pavement. Lost one shoe (got it back as soon as I stood up), scraped my hands, bloodied my left knee and torn my pants at said knee. What was really funny about it was that one of my coworkers was on the same bus and I didn't see him until I got off. He turned around when he heard me falling and was more shocked about it than I was.

The one good side to being klutzy is that you're never surprised when you fall. =D

Just spent the last 2 hours tagging every single entry in LJ.

For someone who doesn't post a lot I sure have a lot of entries. XD

It's strange reading back but I am glad I at least documented some parts of my life. Certainly reminds me when certain things happened. It is also chilling reading some of the posts in hindsight, like this one post I made in 2006 worrying about my grandparents' health. That was also the first summer I spent WoWing and didn't leave the house much. They've both passed away now and it gives me chills thinking that I spent that entire summer in Taiwan playing an online game instead of spending time with them, even though I was well aware of the fact that grandpa's health was deteriorating.

Also, for some reason I started locking more of my posts after 2007. Very odd considering most of my previous posts are open and the contents are remarkably similar. I've gone back and open some of the posts.

Anyways, maybe I will post more often now that I realize it is useful to document my life. If nothing else, I can look back with clarity.

Heading Home

Bah, so I ended up not posting at all the 5 weeks I was here. Not surprisingly.

Been spending a lot of time with my cousin Sean. He's 12, and demands that I play with him everyday afterschool from 12-8. This means I've been playing a lot of video games. We beat Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II by the middle of the 2nd week. A handful of racing games, a series of very amusing Indiana Jones and Star Wars games in Lego form, Wii sports and Rabbid (alien rabbits who like to wreak havoc using toilet plumbers). But most importantly, Final Fantasy XII. Love the characters, plots and the new style of game play (not that I've played that many of the newer FF but I've seen others play).

On the days when we're not being video game nerds, we did go watch a couple of movies. Kung-Fu Panda was very good and pretty hilarious. The 12th Conan movie, on the other hand, was kinda a let down again. The 11th one wasn't great so I didn't expect much of this one. It had its moments and it's better than the 11th one but it was still a meh.

Anyways, heading back to Vancouver tonight. Will arrive in the evening on the same day (the wonders of time difference).

After that on Aug. 4th, I'll be on a trip to the US for 10 days with a friend to visit guildies from WoW. I'll be stopping by Sacramento, maybe San Francisco, Los Angeles and then Asheboro, NC (random, I know). Never thought the first internet friends I would personally meet would be from WoW. It's exciting and entirely too nerdy for my own good probably but I'm looking forward to it.
