Oh, WoW.
...and YES, that's a pun.
See, my brother-in-law decided to get into this World-Of-Warcraft thing he heard so much about. Not being one to do things by halves, he went out and got himself the Battlechest (which includes Burning Crusade and the Brady Guides for both) AND Wrath of the Lich King AND the WOW Atlas.
...and then he discovered that his roomate tended to monopolize thier shared computer to the point where it really wasn't worth his time.
At this point (I assume; it's the only motive that makes sense to ME) he remembered that he hadn't given his brother and sister-in law anything for christmas, because he'd been broke at the time.
...I think you guys can see where this is going.
The *really* hilarious part is that a) our current POS copy can't RUN WoW, but b) we'd already set into motion plans to buy a NEW one that (amoung other things *coughcoughVIDDINGcoighcough) will be WoW capable.
Remember when I said I wouldn't shell out money for WoW, but if a copy landed in my lap I'd probably play? I WAS KIDDING. Well, apparently, the universe didn't KNOW I was kidding.
Funny old thing, life.
Anyway, we took our free trial passes to the local gaming centre and made up a couple of Tauren (since they were probably temp characters, I didn't want to make my Draenei yet, what with all the pain-in-the-ass-ness of installing BC, etc) me a Druid and Mike a hunter and ran them through most of the opening quest chain.
It was seriously fun, and we had some very nice experiences with other players; didn't run into any dicks at all. One person helped us get the basics and run through the first quest; later another ran through the field ouside Bloodhoof village buffing eveyone in sight.
And then today I was reading the Brady guide on the bus, and a woman started up a conversation with me. e chatted for a while and she said she has a Draenei Mage on Durotan and to look her up if I was ever tempted to switch servers!
So yeah, when we get the new computer, I'll be rolling up that Draenei on Earthenring most likely.
You may all mock me for sucumbing now. XD
[ETA:] GODDAMN not being able to edit polls! Qestion 4 there should read "and want to be added to a WoW filter, should Liza add one
"Even I am eatable, but that, dear children, is called cannibalism, and is frowned upon of in most civilized societies."
