Lists, lists for all!

Any special sort of list? No! Any kind of list! Lists about anything, with any number of items, made by anybody, for any reason! Revel in the sweet list-y freedom!

Now, you might be saying to yourself, "But gee willikers, there are so many livejournal communities out there devoted to lists and listmaking!"

That's true. I checked.

But what makes this one different? Some would say moxie. Some would say its unique flavor, its saucy bouquet, if you will. Okay, well, REALLY: I looked at all those communities, and they're either devoted to a specific kind of list (i.e. top tens), are based solely on maintainer prompts (i.e. the maintainer poses a list subject, and everybody replies by comment with their list), or really have little purpose whatsoever.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have taken these communities, gotten them drunk, and had them make sweet, sweet love, and LISTFULLY is the result. You wanna post a list? Go for it. You want to be prompted to make a list? I'm sure someone will oblige, and I will post prompts regularly. Your lists can be as short as a single word or as long as a novel (although I'd probably get on your ass to work some lj-cut mojo). Your list items can be Hemingway-esque in their brevity or Proustian in their verbosity. They can be interesting and funny, or they can be a simple old to-do list. You can make a list on the spot or retype/scan in an old handwritten list. Whatevah you want!

That said, there do have to be a few rules. I know, I know.

KILLJOY RULES SECTION
1. Do TRY to play nice. I'm not averse to the occasional flamewar, and sometimes I think they can be quite entertaining, but if you have nothing better to do than pick malicious, pointless fights with people, you don't have to do it on this community. If you're that bored, go masturbate or something.

2. Obviously there are no rules against swearing. Get crazy with tha language.

3. However, as far as language goes, things like racial/ethnic slurs and similar will not be tolerated, nor will any slurs relating to sexual preference/religion/creed, etcetera etcetera etcetera. I don't think I should have to clarify any more than that -- y'all know what crosses the line.

4. If you decide to post a scanned image of a handwritten list, please try to keep it at a reasonable size -- in terms of pixels AND kilobytes. If you just don't know how to do that, ask someone for help, look up how to do it on the internet, cry for your mommy, etc. If you still can't figure it out, then lj-cut it. Some of us have dialup, for god's sakes.

5. Feel free to go as far off-topic as you want in comments, but try to stick to lists/list-related things if you post. We don't care about your cam site or the neat trick your dog did today, and we don't feel like teaching you HTML (unless you can somehow find a way to work all of that into a list).

6. If you can't stick to these rules, I will probably warn you at least once, and probably a few times, because I am a kind and benevolent ho. If you still can't be a sweet little angel, though, I will exercise my right to Fuck Your Shit Up. And by that, I mean ban you from the community.

7. If you have any other concerns as far as conduct and are very bored, please refer to Livejournal's TOS. I suggest reading it while drunk and listening to cha-cha music, it's much more interesting.

8. And of course, I'm open to any questions, comments or suggestions via e-mail, IM, whatev.

P.S. And tell all your friends that if they don't join, you won't be their friend anymore. And threaten to take back all your Babysitters Club books and friendship bracelets. That always works.
