Hurricane

(no subject)

Six years ago, there was a hurricane Lisa. It was a lot more interesting-looking while it was a tropical storm, though, as pictured in my icon.

Tropical storm Lisa has returned! Looks like, once again, it will fizzle out in the middle of the Atlantic, though. And so far it isn't colliding with another storm in order to make, er, interesting patterns.

But still. It makes me happy to have a violent and potentially dangerous storm named after me. Try not to think about that one too much.

Seriously though, I keep having moments of "oh shit I haven't done homework since - oooooh wait I'm done." I guess it hasn't sunk in fully yet.

Anyway, they finally posted my final credits sometime yesterday or today, and I applied for my diploma. Which'll take something like 4-6 weeks, what. I can go and walk in a commencement ceremony if I want, but ugh, that's not my thing, seriously. Even though it's right in town.

If you don't want to click through to see, that's a 3.7 GPA. I had a 4.0 for a while until I hit an evil evil class in which I got a C. Sadface.

I had such a great weekend!

I went to Phoenix Comicon, which was awesome in some ways and kind of disappointing in other ways. The guests (Wil Wheaton, Levar Burton, Jonathan Frakes, Felecia Day, James Marsters - to name the ones I was excited about) were all awesome. On the other hand, it was very big, a lot of people, and some of the venues were not big enough to handle everyone - mainly, stuff that happened in the ballroom at the hotel was pretty much inaccessible. I couldn't even watch Rock Band with Wil Wheaton, there was a line for that! And the dance on Saturday night was sold out hours in advance. Really disappointing. The vendor's room was huge but kind of disappointing as well... most of it was either really generic or stuff I wasn't into.

Kit was there, and so were a bunch of other people that she knew from other forums or real life and such. She just came back from Germany, and she had a German cold. I probably shouldn't have made out with her so much because now I have the German cold too. Dammit Kit.

Highlights for me include walking past Wil Wheaton right near my hotel room (I was too shy to say hi but I did a geeky little fangirl dance the moment I was out of sight of everybody), and pretty much all of the panels I went to. I may have to post quotes I remember (or that I am reminding myself about, as they are posted in podcast form for me to listen to) if I feel like it later.

It's an iPhone case, shown without an iPhone, because the iPhone in question was taking the picture. I plan to sew a button on it when I get home and have access to, say, buttons. And a needle. And thread.

Maybe when I get home and have another camera handy I'll take a picture with a phone inside.
