Reposted breakdown

Hey everyone! I posted last week to say that I was wearing TGWW armour to the Entertainment Media Show this weekend if I got it finished in time. Well I did, and here is a very detailed breakdown of exactly how I made it.

Disclaimer: I am not claiming this to be the best OR most screen accurate way of completing this costume AT ALL. This is just me explaining in great depth how I made my costume to try and help any Amy sisters that might wish to do the same. :) Using this method I completed this costume in 2 and a half weeks using easily available materials and spending less than £60.

California Baby

Yeah. I'm in California bitches. :D

Went to the midnight showing of DHp2 yesterday which involved a 6 hour long linecon which was EPIC. The English HP fandom is seriously let down by the American one.

Should have taken more photos... bit hopefully Caitlins brother got some good ones. :)

SDCC next week. :D

Exams - 2 down, 4 to go

Exam progress post... how dull. xD

Today I had my Social Psychology A exam. Before I went in I was praying that aggression and violence would come up, and it did!

Question: "Does violent media cause violence and aggressive behaviour?"

The short answer is yes. I had to answer with correlational, experimental and longitudinal evidence... and I remembered all of the studies, but none of the names and dates, so I made them up. xD
I actually checked my notes after the exam to make sure that I'd answered it right... and phew, I had. Yes violent media does cause aggressive behaviour, BUT the behaviour tends to be short term. Only one 22-year longitudinal study has found evidence of the long term impact.
I may have focussed on western teenage boys a bit too much, and as it's negatively marked that could be an issue... but oh well.

(Plus there was a massive bitch-fest 20 minutes before the exam when we discovered that one of our close friends had found a website with examples of the multiple choice questions on it and NOT told us. Lovely. Unfair advantage FTW. D:)

This week I still have my neuroscience exam on Thursday and psycholinguistics on Friday.

FUUUUUUUUU.

THEN I get no let up as I have personality and development next week!

CAN IT BE NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT NOAW PLZ?

I want to be so drunk I don't know which way is up and wonder why the floor doesn't have handles.

I've seriously hit the 'cba' wall.

Mehhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Random update when I should be sleeping...

Yep, it's almost midnight and I should be asleep.. but oh well.

*My first exam was on Tuesday "Developmental Psychology A: Infant attachment and maternal deprivation"... yeah, thrilling topic. BUT it went okay, my audio notes seem to have worked and I only blanked on one very small section of the exam. Not saying I answered the rest perfectly, but well enough.

On the topic of exams I had a panic-attack on Monday night before that exam which was NOT a fun experience. Severe panic, anxiety, sobbing and shaking does not help the revision process one bit. But oh well, I'm kinda over the anxiety for now, my next exam isn't until next Tuesday, but it is ALL DOWNHILL from here on in. They get A LOT harder. *gulp*

*Karen Gillan at LFCC and Alex Kingston at CM:MK. Do I even need to state the amount of squeeing I've done over the last week? Yeah. My Mother is adamant that I should wear my femme!11 costume when I meet Karen. WHAT. No? I'm gonna wear an Amy costume, is she mad?! I'm thinking Kissogram, not quite sure yet. Must make sure I don't pounce on either of them... that would not end well.

*So apparently I'm going to CALI-FUCKING-FORNIA this summer to see Caitlin and Sarah. SQUEE. Oh, and to go to that small thing called SDCC.

WHAT. EVEN. How did that happen?! Oh yeah... Sarah talked me into it. :P I didn't take that much convincing to be honest. Summer of epic will be an epic summer. California, LFCC, DH premiere and 3 weeks of teaching children affected by the Kosovo war, in Kosovo.
Wow.

I went to Manchester on Sunday to help with the Manchester Great Run and raise money for Manchester Aid to Kosovo, the charity which I am going with in August. I met 3 of the 5 survivors of the biggest massacre of the Kosovo war and it was... eye opening to say the least. These 3 women were so beautiful and strong despite what they had been thorough. They were chilled and laughing, friendly and welcoming. It makes me feel ashamed to be worrying about my petty exams to be honest.

*Tonight I've been working on something that I'm rather excited about to procrastinate from revision BUT I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING AS IT'S A SURPRISE. BAH.

*Going to Northampton for a few hours on Saturday to see some lovely people and watch Doctor Who with them. Yes. I'm travelling to Northampton to watch Doctor Who. Yes, that is normal behaviour... well, maybe not.

*Latest guest announcements for Bitten 2 are making me rather sad that I can't go... but I will be teaching war survival kids in a country that really needs some aid... so... yeah. I bet there will be a Lou Pines party theme now and my biker!Lady Gaga costume from the Judas video plan would be PERFECT for that theme.
Darn

Erm... that is all I can think of right now.

Kapow and cosplaying

This weekend was Kapow! Comic Con, in London, England.

I went on Saturday and met up with jemzamia and roberty88 (hence forth called the filth!couple xD). The weather was fabulous and I'd been talked into cosplaying THE/CB Pond (because, really, why not? :D) thus dressing for Rio was a great plan.

Just outside of Angel station I bumped into the aformentioned couple hunting feverishly for the special edition of SFX magizine.

Why?

Because there was no where to buy 8x10's inside of Kapow! None. What were we supposed to get signed? There was nothing on the desks of the celebrities and few affordable options in the con. Eventually we gave up and ended up buying a Merlin poster for the cast to sign... but this poster only had Colin and Bradley on. *headdesk*

Anyway... so I joined the first epic queue of the day to get into the con, and found Jemz at the front of another epic queue, the Merlin queue, with gnimaerd and doylefan22  guarding the front with their sign. :D They were lovely and aided in making the crazy long queueing time go faster. We were all muttering about painful feet and backs by the time the cast finally arrived, around half an hour late, for their one hour signing session...

But anyway, Jemz and myself were ushered around to see Bradley and Colin whilst the others saw Katie and Angel... we didn't complain. xD I put money into Bradley's charity collection and asked him if I could get a photo with him to which he replied "Yeah, of course, sure". But immediately the HMV man behind him said "No, you can't". Bradley, bless him looked kind of shocked and apologised to me saying "Oh, sorry apparently you can't"... I kind of love him. Even weirder was a few seconds later when Bradley asked to take a photo of me on his iPhone.

He said "You are the first to donate, can I take your photo?"

I turned into a complete gushing fangirl and was like "Yeah, sure" and stood SO AWKWARDLY whilst he took my photo... twice. I was sooooo worried he was going to twitpic this awful photo of me, but thankfully he didn't! Huzzah. :D

My memory goes a bit fuzzy due to the fangirling here... but I remember gushing some more over Katie as she is SO gorgeous and her drawing a stick figure of herself on mine and Jemz's posters as she thought she should be on there too... <3

The Merlin panel was great, but I could see NOTHING due to the huge man sat in front of me and the really, really low stage. (Also had to do a bit of ungraceful chair-climbing... thank god I was wearing one of the few Pond costumes that doesn't consist of a short skirt!) But oh well, I could see Bradley occasionally (and he was completely zoned out through most of it staring in my general direction) and listening was enough. :)

So, my review of Kapow! Comic Con is that the REALLY need some kind of virtual queueing system like Showmasters does. Queueing for 3 hours for each guest? How are you supposed to enjoy the convention? There was wayyy too little organisation for my liking as well. :/

Also... I didn't take a single photo all day! D:

But... away from Kapow! and onto cosplaying.

FINALLY I get to go a comic cosplay with the bezza,  [info]nimbus1991, at London Film and Comic Con 2011 after our Entertainment Media Show plans of The Black Cat and Phoenix got scuppered by the cancellation of the con. This time she is going to do the nekkid-ness that is traditional Wonder Woman, and I shall be Supergirl. :D SUPERHEROINES FTW.

Plus it's July... we can get away with the nekkidness.

The other day (Sunday) I shall be either Giselle!Animated from Enchanted or Lara Croft: Legend. Not sure which just yet.

IT'S GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN. I've bought my wig for this already, it's being shipped from Hong Kong as we speak. It was £10 and looks realllly pretty in the pictures. Wonder what I shall look like as a blonde?

Just wish it could be comic con noaw... rather than after my *whispers* exams. :(
