About this book series
The MSSET series publishes advanced textbooks, expository monographs, problem-solving guides, handbooks, and general references. Books focus on modeling and simulation in applied sciences, engineering, and technology. The goal is to create a bridge between applied mathematicians, scientists, and engineers utilizing modeling and simulation methods and tools for complex-problem solving. The general framework is that of applied and industrial mathematics, computational analysis, and computational engineering.
The series provides science and engineering readers with the essential (and practical) information on modeling and simulation methods and guidelines for formulating and solving complex problems.
Key Topics and Focus Areas:
- Mathematical modeling and computational analysis in applied sciences, engineering, economics, applied physics, biology, chemistry, medicine, life sciences
- Algorithms for scientific computations of practical utility and methods for recovering both qualitative and quantitative information
- Dynamical systems models and methods
- Computational methods in applied sciences and engineering
- Modeling applications with ODEs and PDEs
- Fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and fluid-structure interaction
- Multiscale methods and computational analysis
The series targets graduate students, researchers, and practicing scientists and engineers, working in all disciplines of applied sciences and engineering. It strives for an accessible presentation style that provides the necessary technical background to a diverse, interdisciplinary readership.
