I'm Linelen, and I've loved fanfiction since I was 16 years old and discovering Mulder/Scully stories online. The idea blew my mind at the time, and it didn't occur to me that I could actually *write my own* fanfiction until much later. I dabbled in some LotR fics, nothing serious, but then Harry Potter hit me - hard.
I was a big time Remus/Sirius shipper, like whoa, and that pairing is always going to have a special place in my heart. I can still happily be side-tracked into a lengthy discussion about them, and about how their relationship is adorable and tragic and deeply moving, but this is neither the time (that's over) nor the place (that's another journal).
I left the HP fandom about four years ago, and hadn't written a thing since. When Star Trek came out, of course I was captivated. I had always enjoyed ToS and TNG, and Kirk/Spock is THE original slash couple - and they were pretty darn hot on the big screen. So I read a few fics, here and there, and some of them were outrageously wonderful, but something about their pairing left me...unfulfilled.
So one night I was trolling the Star Trek XI stories at Archive of Our Own and the description of a Kirk/McCoy fic caught my eye. I had always skipped over these fics before, because I had paired Kirk up with Spock in my head and I am funny that way, but I was desperate for something to read and decided to give it a shot.
My mind. was. blown. I read every single Jim/Bones story I could get my hands on, both there and on livejournal, and I loved them all. And for the first time in four years I wanted to write again. So I made this journal. And yes, I am very rusty, and I clearly have a lot to learn, but I'm having so much fun that I'm pretty sure I'm in for good this time.
If you friend me, I will friend you back. And I will, without fail, read all your updates (even if I don't comment - I am shy) and offer to beta for you if you need one and probably try to cheer you up if you're having a crappy day. You don't need to friend me if you just want the stories though - I only friend-lock the personal stuff, and I'll always post the fic on The Captain and the Doctor. That being said, I always love new friends. :)
