Falling Leaves

These characters all belong to the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien. This story was written for pleasure and not for financial gain.
“You are leaving to dwell amongst Men?” Thranduil sounded incredulous.
“Yes, father, I plan to build a new home, together with those who would come with me, in the woodlands of Ithilien. I would help the lands there flourish.”
“But Legolas, you will dwell beside a folk who wither and die as swiftly as leaves in autumn. Why should you choose to do such a thing?”
“But are not the leaves at their most fair in autumn?” said Legolas. “Are not the hues at their most vivid? They gleam red, orange and gold, radiant in fleeting splendour ere they fall.”
Happy Halloween! I'm so glad you came to the party and enjoy having you on my list.
This is my first attempt to write Thranduil so I hope he came out OK.
