Wedding Day!

Who: Artie and Tina
What: Wedding Reception
Where: Lima's Shawnee Country Club
Rating: PG

Artie had definitely embarrassed himself during the ceremony when Amy made her grand entrance. While Josh had remained fairly cool, grinning at Amy while she made her way down the aisle on her father's arm, Artie completely lost it. Big tears streamed down his cheeks as he watched Amy walk, realizing all at once that he was losing his big sister. His dad was giving her away today.

As Artie arrived at the reception with the rest of the wedding party, he was sure he'd never hear the end of it about how he'd cried, particularly from Andy. He spotted Andy in her dress, looking surprisingly busty and surprisingly like a girl. As Josh and Amy were introduced and launched right into their first dance, Artie found Tina. It was time for the rest of the wedding party to choose partners. He crossed the dance floor to approach her.

"You look amazing," he breathed, beaming up at her.
Bust out!

DDR and Drama

Who: Mike Chang, Arite Abrams, Tina Cohen-Chang
What: The long-awaited, much-discussed, epic DDR showdown.
Where: The Abrams Residence.
Rating: PG for starters.

Mike bounced up the walk to the Abrams residence, a basket of cookies balanced around his wrist. It had been a quick and simple drive cross town to the nice house. He blinked and knocked on the door, registering for the first time that he had never been to Artie's home. Or been around his friends much. Or anything other than classes and their smoothie man-date. He grinned.

Oh well. New things were exciting.

The dancer knocked on the door, humming one of the infernal songs his sister had shown him the other day as he waited at the door. Today was something that was going to be fun. He hoped. Regardless, he had his week sabbatical in Chicago at the dance camp to make him think. And well...

He blinked and grinned as the door opened, happily distracted from his thoughts.

I Never Met A More Impossible Girl

Who: Tina and Andy
What: Dress shopping (Horror of horrors)
Where: The mall, of course.
Rating: PG

Andy pushed the double doors leading to the mall proper with a grand fling of her arms, breathing in the well filtered and air conditioned air. She could almost forget for a moment that she was here to buy a dress, and instead had come to buy new posters at Spencers or get a few CDs at f.y.e. "We have arrived, Tina," she said, voice full of gravity as she turned to smirk at her friend. "This is a dangerous mission you have undertaken. I wish you luck."

She was going to come out of this place with a dress to wear to Amy's wedding, even if it killed her, which it might. But she couldn't show up to the wedding in jeans and a wife beater, no matter how much she would prefer to. Thank God she had convinced Tina to come with her, or it would be a truly devastating event. "I promise to trust you judgment, Brain, but if you steer me toward pastels, I might have to kill you."

If I Were Any Older, I Could Act My Age

Who: Artie, Andy and the Youngun
What: Fun with Spawn
Where: The Park
Rating: PG. There are children present.

Andy couldn't believe she was braving the sun. It wasn't something she liked to do. Summer was supposed to be spent with her indoors, sitting under a fan, bemoaning her existence. But her mother was being more heinous than usual-- trying to get her to clean out the dark recesses under her bed and clean all of the windows in the house (for which she would receive $25, but she could get that from the jar in the cabinet without breaking her back, thank you very much). And so Andy had hatched an escape attempt (which was really not more than running out the back door while her Ma Todd's back was turned.

And then she was here. At the park. In the God awful sun. She put a hand over her eyes and scanned the area, finally finding her quarry. Artie was coming down the path at the other end of the park, the kind of adorable (if you were into that sort of thing) kid on his lap. Sighing in internal defeat, Andy jogged up to them and stuck her hands deep into the pockets of her jeans. "Hey man," she greeted with a nod. "Hey, small person."

"Welcome to /The/ Berry Goode Bakery!"

That was the excited, humbling phrase Rachel repeated on a semi-regular basis during her work hours. Rachel wouldn’t even bother to excuse the pun anymore – it actually wasn’t intentional, at all. When her fathers had first moved to Lima, Ohio in hopes of raising their little girl (feeling that New York was perhaps a bit too dangerous) they had instantly seen to beginning anew. While Hiram Berry had always been a pastry chef in some of the classiest restaurants in New York, there had always been this niggling need to start his own bakery. Upon attending a meeting with the bank, the two men signed their names, and what the loan was for. “Berry. Goode. Reason; Bakery”. It didn’t take long for the title to fall into place.

Although it sounded a tad peculiar, Rachel was in her element within these walls. The reason this sounded so peculiar was because she wasn’t on stage, or a theatre. In fact, she wasn’t even performing – she was standing jaunty-hipped behind several girls in her father’s bakery as they decorated cupcakes (she worked here part-time, mostly for the money. Sheet music cost, you know!). The tell-tale smile across her face suggested that things were definitely going her way, and the fact things were running so smoothly? It was definitely a tribute to her amazing leadership skills. There was the tell-tale whisper of how annoying Rachel was, and how it wasn’t fair, and how spoilt she was… but Rachel didn’t particularly care.

“Well, while you’re all doing this, I suppose I should go and take care of the cash register,” she sang gently, her expensive penny loafers sounding her retreat (they remained spotless due to her lack of actual work in the bakery). Her usual smile beamed out across the empty shop front, signs hung perfectly and not a fleck of dirt anywhere to be seen. She was proud of herself. And, to her knowledge, she was supposed to be helping a young boy pick out a birthday cake for his mother – how utterly adorable! She smoothed the edges of her crisp, pale-pink apron and took careful note that all her (self-applied) bedazzlements were in place.

This was her favourite part of the morning shift – waiting for the very first customer of the day.The

"Don't 'cha wish your boyfriend was hot like me?"

Who: Artie and Kurt
What: Tuxedo Fittings
Where: Men's Wearhouse
Rating: PG

Josh's cousin had broken his leg. This wouldn't have been a situation of extreme emergency, but it meant that Artie's sister was short one usher for the wedding, which was less than two weeks away. They had to come up with a replacement usher, and fast, and Amy thought of Kurt.

"Kurt?" Artie had asked, dubiously. Kurt was his friend, not Amy's. But Amy quickly pointed out that she'd also known Kurt for many years, and since he had no siblings, she'd acted as an older sister to him for much of that time. They wasted no time in calling him, and he agreed. Kurt Hummel never turned down an excuse to wear a tuxedo.

Amy had a long list of wedding-related errands to run that day so she told Artie she'd drop him off for he and Kurt's fittings. (Artie had been putting off going, a fact that irritated his sister because he wound up being the last to do it.) She left him with a few nagging reminders, Artie might have called her "bridezilla" loudly enough for her to hear him, and she sped out of the parking lot without looking back at him.

Laughing under his breath, Artie pushed himself up the ramp on the sidewalk. The store was in a small shopping center, and Artie was glad it wasn't in the mall. He was rather bored of the mall... although he really liked what he'd gotten from Hot Topic when he went with Tina the other day.

He wasn't wearing the Hot Topic purchase because Amy had carefully scrutinized his outfit herself. Instead, he sported a red vintage Ramones shirt, the dark denim thift store jeans, and a pair of Converse shoes that Amy had gone to the trouble of dirtying up for him. ("Why the hell would my shoes be worn out?")
Oh Really!

Awkward Encounter of the First Kind

Who: Suzy & Andy
What: Awkward meeting
Where: The Mall
Rating: PG

Thank goodness school's out,  Suzy thought again as she was existing into the mall from Sears. She had been eager to check if there was any active response to the stern letter she wrote to the manager three months ago about their lack of fashion selection. As she suspected, her letter had been ignored and there were indeed no skorts whatsoever to choose from.

She still had a few hours until her mom would pick her up and she wasn't about to give up her new found freedom so easily. Dr. Jennings had just recently allowed her to be out without parental supervision after he gave her a bit higher dosage of medicine. She didn't have many (or any) friends really to speak of and her new "love," Finn, was no where to be seen through her telescope. Ever since Finn and his mom moved into the Hummel's house two blocks away, she had the perfect view of their living room from her second story bedroom window. But seeing as Finn was out somewhere (probably hanging out with his beautiful, popular cheerleader girlfriend), Suzy decided it was time for her to start her summer right.

She left the cookie stand with a delicious chocolate chip cookie and cola slushie in hand. Better drinking it than wearing it, she mused.  She was heading off toward the arcade when all of a sudden, three things happened very quickly. She saw Finn, Brittany, and Santana walking and laughing  out the exit of store; Suzy practically diving behind a fake giant tree to hide herself; and then spilling her slushie on the most unfortunate and unlikely inhabitant hiding behind that fake foliage:

Summer Lovin'

Who: Artie and Tina
What: Swimming and Bathing Suits ;D
Where: Nana and Papa Abrams' pool
Rating: PG

Cloudless skies. Warm sun. It was the perfect weather for a lazy, Sunday aftenoon swim. Artie suggested that they celebrate the end of school, a great excuse to see his girlfriend's bikini body. And his grandparents were going to be gone all day, which meant they'd have privacy. Privacy with his girlfriend was something Artie just didn't get at his house...

... But Tina's parents! Artie still couldn't believe he'd been trusted in her room, with the door shut, and her father actually knocked before coming in! This didn't make him happy at all. It meant they thought he was safe. And Artie still wanted to seem more dangerous, dammit.

He whistled as Tina pushed his chair through the back gate and towards the clean, inviting swimming pool. Two very welcoming pool chairs floated in the middle of the pool, and Nana Abrams had left cups and a plastic pitcher of lemonade sitting on the table for them. He turned over his shoulder to grin up at her.

SUMMMER VACATION!

School was finally out, and even Artie - who liked school - was relieved to have a break. He could focus on some fun activities now. Like swimming every single day in preparation for the Paralympics. And spending more time with Tina, Andy, Kurt, and Mercedes.

As promised, he and Andy had their ski ball "date" scheduled. And after a few games, Andy would be showing him her top secret skills that proved all stereotypes had a bit of truth behind them.

They were keeping up with who was winning the ski ball game by who had the most tickets sticking out of their lane. So far, Artie was ahead, but not by much. They'd actually fallen silent in concentration, each one determined to prevail over the other. All around them, it was noisy and crowded; lots of kids were here to celebrate the first day of summer vacation.

Meeting Miss Cohen-Chang

Who: Grace Dalton and Tina Cohen-Chang
What: Reader's advisory?/ getting acquainted
Where: Library
Rating: G

The library had been quiet all morning, and Grace was taking advantage of the time to straighten out the magazine section and tidy things up a bit.  A couple of the computers were in use, mostly for keeping up with social media, she noticed when she glanced at them.  The bell rang, and the halls filled with students.  The kids who had been on the computers signed off reluctantly and made their way out into the throng.  Grace went back to the desk to shed her jacket -- it was a little warm in the library today.

Just before the bell that signaled the end of the passing period rang, the door opened and another student entered.  Grace looked up with a friendly smile.  "Hello," she greeted the girl.
