Portrait of Louis XIII, King of France

  • Artist: Workshop of Peter Paul Rubens (Flemish, 1577-1640)
  • Date: c. 1622
  • Medium: Oil on canvas
  • Collection: Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena, CA, United States

Louis XIII

Louis XIII (1601 –1643) was King of France from 1610 until his death in 1643 and King of Navarre (as Louis II) from 1610 to 1620, when the crown of Navarre was merged with the French crown.

The son of Henry IV and his second wife, Marie de' Medici, became king at age nine. Although he was declared of age in 1615, stronger men and especially his mother dominated him. He never learned to rule his kingdom effectively. Nevertheless, Rubens has portrayed the young king with all of the attributes of strength.

Artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839 – 1892). Iba Hachiro was a direct retainer (”hatamoto”) of the shogun, heir to an elite dojo, member of the shogun’s guard unit, and indomitable fighter who, even after losing his left arm, like Hijikata Toshizo, went all the way to Hokkaido in his war.

Made this joke before but that one disney princess book series thats all about putting the disney princesses in irl historical situations has like insane implications for frozen. Does that mean that anna and elsa are supposed to be bernadotte's granddaughters. Are we genuinely getting a subplot where they put down the revolutions of 1848

Like as funny as the jacobin belle bit it is to me there is genuinely a book about belle in the french revolution where she gets a revelation from the fairy for real on how she must stop the spread of it to europe to avoid the downfall of western civilization so like the 1848 thing isnt even that farfetched. R anna and elsa be collaborators to napoleon iii. Are we seeing anna support the execution of ciceruacchio and hunt down mazzini
