The Metropolitan Museum of Art Publications Database: I'm sure I've already recommended this searchable database of The Met's publications in previous years, but it's worth reccing again. The publications can be read online and many can be downloaded for free. I've found it to be a fantastic resource for the eclectic variety of things I want to research for various story ideas, especially for cultural and/or historical visuals.
Smithsonian Free Databases and Collections: in the same vein, the Smithsonian's page has links for many online databases that make information available for free. The list is organized by the categories: general; art, history, and culture; and science.
And of course, all the fandom Wiki pages are great resources for checking specifics of episodes, transcripts, etc.
