Title: FIC: Social Dynamics of the Air Bison, or, Appa Thinks Aang Is Way Too Nice For His Own Good

Summary: Aang thinks it's time for Mai to make friends with Appa. Mai and Appa think he's out of his mind.

Why This Must Be Read: because Appa! This is seriously one of the most perfect Appa fics ever, it's very funny, and Mai and Aang are great here too.

Fandom: The Avengers (Marvel Movies)
Title: FIC & PODFIC: K.I.T.C.A.T. (keeping information technology catalogued and tidy)
Creators: AshesandGhost, sk_lee and somnolentblue
Summary: Four times KITCAT interacted with library staff (and one time KITCAT didn't). An Avengers library AU featuring JARVIS' younger sibling.

Why I Love This: This is a wonderful collaborative piece that was published for the pod together lightning project, a fic and a podfic created in tandem. The story is fun, the performers did a fantastic job with the reading and it's an awesome, well-crafted library AU. The character voices are just excellent and it's a perfect intro to podfic that really shows how the voice actors who perform them can bring a story to life in new ways. At just under 10 minutes long it's also a shorter piece, so it's great if you're new to podfics and want to get a taste of one to start. :)

Why I Love This: This is such a beautiful Harry/Draco manip. The lighting, effects, the detail, everything that the artist achieves here. Absolutely gorgeous artwork. Here's the image:

Why I Love This: I've probably already recced this at least once before but it's worth reccing again. It's such a fun Al video and captures him perfectly. Great song too. Here's the embed:

Fandom: Star Trek TOS
Title: Five Music Lessons
Creator: cosmic_llin
Summary: Spock teaches Uhura to play the Vulcan lyre.

Why This Must Be Read; cosmic_llin's works in the Star Trek universe are some of the best out there. This fic is a beautiful Uhura & Spock friendship fic that explores their similar experiences with memory loss and recovery, helping and comforting each other and their common love of music. It's so good.

Fandom: Star Trek: The Next Generation
Title: Quiet Places

Summary: Ro Laren discovers something that she and Guinan have in common.

Why This Must Be Read: Another one by cosmic_llin. Two more of my favorite characters in all of Star Trek. Both characters and their interactions are represented so perfectly here and it's just such a great snapshot of their friendship. Love.

Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Title: Creak

Summary: “Her name was Sam, and she knew little else.”

Why This Must Be Read: a Sam-centric amnesia fic written on the prompt "Sam with no backup." This fic is very different in format and style from most anything I've read in this fandom but I love it, and have recced it in several places. I love the way the fic is crafted, the rhythm of the language, Sam and her bonding with the other women. Really worth reading, and also check out the stunning remix of this fic, The Sangata, Book 1 (The Ramayana Remix) by katie_m.
