Mammoth refers to a bear with long hair, especially if one considers their long hair to be an expression of their masculinity.

The mammoth flag.

History

The term was coined by Tumblr user luxiomhariel on June 17th, 2025.[1] Of the flag, he stated,

"The blue stripe is a reminder that long hair can be part of manhood and masculinity.

"The white stripe is for non-conformity.

"The brown stripes are representation of the diversity of people that can be bears/mammoths, their hair colors (black hair is represented in the footprint color), and the cultures they come from where long hair has importance.

"The footprint is that of a mammoth's, because mammoths were large with long fur."
