A downloadable game for Windows

The "Echoes of Memory" is a first-person psychological horror walking simulator that emphasises atmosphere and environmental storytelling over traditional combat.

About the Story

Some memories are meant to stay buried. In the silence of The Institute, your past is your greatest enemy.

You are Dean, who lives with hypermnesia: a rare condition that allows you to remember every single detail of your life. Every pain, every tragedy and every fleeting moment is as vivid today as the second it happened. Desperate for silence in your head, you volunteer for an experimental treatment at "The Institute", a private clinic promising a cure.

But the cure was a lie.

WARNING: Photosensitivity, epilepsy seizures

This game contains flashing lights, strobe effects, and glitch visuals that may affect photosensitive players. Viewer discretion is advised.

Good game keep up the great work. The games is last in the video!

I'm really glad I found this game; I absolutely loved playing it! I liked the constant feeling of uneasiness and the subtle scary noises. I appreciate that it's not a linear game so you have to revisit areas to gather clues or items. I think the puzzles were nicely balanced, neither too easy nor too hard. The game reminded me of a Fallout 3 atmosphere with the collapsed buildings searching around for loot; also some bits of SCP game which I really love! I covered all secret items and explained the puzzles in my gameplay video within the Youtube chapters.

Thank You for creating this, I really hope it gets more exposure!

I'm looking forward more games from you. Best of luck! ❤️🤗

Hey, I wanted to point out some game problems/bugs I've encountered. I will post my gameplay soon after 🫡

(SPOILERS BELOW)

.

.

.

1. Morphine items respawn on load. If you use a morphine item to heal up, save the game, and then reload, the item reappears in the same spot; I don't think consumed morphine should respawn back.

2. Slow movement in the Subject 07 red blood room jumpscare. In the red room with the girl crying in the corner, the player movement speed slows down; when the event finally ends, the movement speed doesn't go back to normal, and you are basically stuck walking at a very slow pace; save/load fixes it.

3. Boarded door with planks can be opened without breaking the planks. You can open the door and close it regardless of it being boarded with planks; you still can't enter the room, but it just looks a bit odd in my opinion; it ruins the curiosity of what's behind the closed door.

4. Narrow jail area causes unavoidable deaths. Regarding the jail area, it is quite narrow so the monster pretty much blocks the whole pathway with his wide hitbox, causing you repeated deaths like when trying to get into the to fix the valve (in that closed square space), or entering the jail cell to, or picking back up an item you dropped in the cell since you couldn't hold both the valve and the main room key.

The atmosphere and the note design was outstanding. The puzzles were okay, not too hard not too easy. The story was interesting tho, i dont like too much story in game in general. Cutscreens were okay and the ending was left open so maybe a sequel possbile.

Overall it was a good game, would recommend.

Great story with interesting puzzles that really make you think without being overly frustrating. The pacing is spot on, keeping you engaged the whole way through. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of narrative-driven puzzle games!

Scary, backstory is something i've never seen personally, goated game overall
