Sci-fi movies that explore how futuristic technologies and unfamiliar extraterrestrial surroundings affect humans' sanity and well-being are definitely my kind.

The ending gave me an existential crisis to the point that my husband had to remind me several times that those kinds of things won’t happen in our lifetime. That ending wasn’t necessary, but it made me love the movie even more. The concept of time and eternity has always frightened me. More movies like this please.

I didn't know who Joan Chen was before, but I was watching Twin Peaks at the time I decided to watch Dìdi, and only at the end of the movie did I realize that the mother was Josie! What a coincidence. It kinda feels somewhat magical because it feels like I just saw her in her youth yesterday (in Twin Peaks).

Moving on to the film, Dìdi was raw and candid. It pretty much summarizes what a pre-teen has to…

"Flexing?"

From the trailer, I already had low expectations because I had a feeling it was going to be bad. But it was giving body horror vibes so I was still excited.

Children of Heaven
★★★★ Liked Rewatched

I remember watching a very sad movie when I was about 6 years old about a brother and sister who had to share the same pair of shoes to go to school, but I never knew what movie it was until I rewatched it now. I remembered there being a running race, and somehow it felt way more dramatic and heartbreaking in my memory.

But rewatching it now, the movie feels more heartwarming than tragically sad. The bond between Ali and Zahra is so pure and innocent.

The line "We will now begin to help you with your final move" always hit me hard. I think I will keep the mindset that even the deceased can speak to cope with loss and grief from now on.

Falling in Love Like in Movies

I'm still amazed with how well-written this movie is. In a way, it reminds me of Spike Jonze's Adaptation, which was written by Charlie Kaufman. Similar to Adaptation, this movie revolves around the struggle of a screenwriter and uses a meta approach. If you love watching movies (and I believe all of you reading this do, I mean, it's Letterboxd), I'm sure you would enjoy this.

I tend to find that this kind of movie often focuses too much on…
